disneyland or WDW

When are you going? One caveat - DL only has fireworks Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights during the school year because of it's location in the middle of an urban area, but nightly during summer, and school vacation weeks.
Really? It makes sense but things I never would of thought of

And another thing to keep in mind, although it's totally out of your control. Since Disneyland is in an urban environment, the fire marshal will cancel fireworks at the last minute if the upper level winds are blowing towards the residential area because of the concern with burning embers, smoke and ash. Because of this, it is recommended that you plan to watch fireworks on the first night, rather than wait until the end of your vacation just in case of winds.

As others have said, they are nearly identical. DL can have fireworks and WDW has the interactive game you can play with a MagicBand+ (Batuu Bounty Hunters, I believe, is the name). I do not think they had that at DL when I was there two years ago. Both are very immersive and well done.

That makes a lot of sense, especially the part about trip length and budget. I’m leaning more toward a shorter trip right now, so Disneyland might be the better fit. Weather and crowd levels are a factor too—have you been to both? Curious how you’d compare the overall experience.
I grew up going to Disneyland, but now live in Florida going to Disney World.

If someone asked me where to go if they could only visit one I would pick Disneyland. So much more is packed in there, it is easier to get around because it is more compact, and it is the historic original. The classic. The first.

My wife grew up the opposite, visiting Disney World. We went to Disneyland recently and she said she liked it more because of how compact it was. She said it felt a bit more polished in a way.

Perhaps with its smaller size, every detail gets more scrutiny.

I really enjoyed California Adventure, especially the Cars area and Sanfrantokyo food area.

Anyway, there is no wrong answer, and people will have their emotional and nostalgic favorites that play a big role.

And if you go to one, you can always visit the other with your next trip to compare!

Nighttime galaxy’s edge in Disneyland is better then Disney world. the fireworks and projections are amazing, we’ve been a few times and it gives me chills every time. Don’t forget your lightsabers!!!

Who has already been to Galaxy's Edge in different parks - which experience did you like more: Disneyland or WDW?
To me they seemed exactly the same. Some rides are different, but this isn't one we noticed. Overall, I think the rides at DL are better (or maybe I had just done the WDW so many times it was nice to have something new)--loved Pirates, HM, BTR, much better at DL. Also we went to DL in August--and oh my goodness weather SO much better there in the summer than Florida--it was like Florida in March--perfect.
