......Or Not!!!:thumbsup2 We are a fam of WDW vets-Mom(40-ish,discrazed) Dad(40-ish,Grumpy@dis) teenboy(18-too cool for skool,discrazed) babybear(12,discrazed kid)
We've been to WDW countless times-okI do count, but you know what I mean, we LOVE it there.
Deceided to plan a trip out west....Sept 24-Oct. 8 2011. We saw national parks, hiked and all that good stuff. But since Mom (discrazed, remember?) can't go within 500 miles of a Disney property without visiting...we planned 7 nights in Anaheim. The big questions came up...would we like it? Isn't it tiny? Won;t we be bored within a couple of days? (as if;))
Well, that week in sunny California answered our questions. In spite of the fact that the pirates ride was CLOSED.:scared1:And California Screamin' was CLOSED:scared1: the verdict?
W-O-N-D-E-R-F-U-L !!!!!
Tiny in size? oh yeah. Tiny in awesome details, things to do,shows to see? Not a bit! We went for 6 days...and both teenboy and babybear wanted more-more-more! (so did discrazed Mom) Dad lasted 3-4 days and was done, but even so....it's worth it!
popcorn:: So the question *WAS*....which is better..Walt Disney World,or Disneyland?
popcorn:: Our answer is....."We're not sure,we love them both!":wizard:
It was so much the same, and so much different. Less immersive in some areas, more immersive in others.
Our one day I dragged the fam to Uni studios, we all liked it, but "It's just not Disney" was the sentence of the day. Should've expected that.:goodvibes
there are such wonderful details at DL,so many 'old school' memories and bits to notice, such excellent shows (World of Color,Aladdin,Golden Horseshoe saloon) so many attractions, so much to take in. And the Main street, they still have the penny arcade!:thumbsup2And the Magic Shop, with the Houdini phone!:thumbsup2And the Main Street cinema!:thumbsup2 And the Monte Cristo sandwich!:thumbsup2
Someday,we may get back to California, and get to see even more. Till then, I wanted to share this viewpoint of ours. We had a wonderful trip!

Thanks for the review. Your family is very similar to mine. 40ish Discrazed Mom, 40ish Grumpy Dad, 19yo, and 12yo for our first trip to the Land this spring. I am glad that you guys enjoyed it. We are planning 5-6 days at Disneyland and I am a little worried that the family might get restless. I know it might be our only trip out west, so I want to make sure we soak it all in!

Have a great time! All the rides should be open when you go! I think our best idea was splitting up when we needed to- usually Grumpdad headed back to our room to hang out and enjoy life in his own way, while the rest of us continued touring..... everybody was happy with that!
