Disneyland offsite hotel recommendations

You are going to have to provide a little more information in order for people to make recommendations. When are you traveling? How many people are in your group? What ages? Other than walking distance, do you have any price limitations?

There are several threads with hotel suggestions. You might look at some of the suggestions in these recent threads.

Are they headed there now? Without reservations? Candy Cane Inn is very popular, as is the Westin. Two totally different hotels with different amenities in different directions from the parks.

Did you see the graphic that DisneyChrista has shared?

Stayed at the Hyatt Regency October 2023. It was very nice. It was $6 per person round trip daily for their shuttle service to DL/CA. There was a machine in the lobby to purchase shuttle tickets. Super easy. They had 2 shuttles running first thing in the morning. They have their lunch hours posted in the shuttles. They stop running an hour after park closes. Hotel overnight parking was $35. Very family friendly and welcoming of all ages.

Hotel food was good. Stay was very clean and nice. We stayed there because we needed a 2 bedroom suite. It was a dedicated suite. You walk in to the living area with sofa that can convert to a bed, desk, & tv. One side was 1 bedroom with 2 queen beds, tv, and bathroom. The other side was 1 bedroom with king bed, tv, and bathroom.

Wyndham Anaheim is our go to been there twice and plan to stay there in 2025 again. Very short walk which is kind of relaxing to the entrance

Thanks for the review of Hyatt Regency. I'm staying there in January and I've been wondering if it's as good as it looks! Are the shuttles super crowded or is usually easy to get a seat?

We stayed at the Hyatt Regency for a staycation last month. You've asked about the hotel a couple of times, so I figured I would comment. While it isn't the GCH, we thought it was a very nice hotel. We didn't eat at the restaurants but did pick up Starbucks and gelato in the lobby. We have free MK parking so I can't comment on the shuttle.

We've stayed at all three Anaheim Hyatt hotels. By far, the staff were the most kind, helpful, and accommodating at the Hyatt Regency. Hyatt Place comes in second for customer service and, in our opinion, Hyatt House is the worst.

We were upgraded to a 1 bedroom suite which was nice. The room was clean and everything was in working order, but it was a bit dated. Note, I've seen similar complaints about DLH. I'm being very picky in pointing out the negatives. The desk and corners of furniture were dinged as if people ran their furniture into them. The fabric on the desk chair was torn. There was only one mirror (in the bathroom) which made it difficult to get ready if someone was showering. Other than the rack in the shower, there was only one hook for towels. The faucets and showerhead in the bathroom were older and had some rust/corrosion. The positives (compared to the other Hyatts in the area) include great water pressure, clean carpet, and fully operational, easy to use elevators. We rarely had to wait for an elevator which I can't say for the other Hyatt properties in Anaheim.

I'm happy to elaborate more if you have additional questions. Bottom line is that you will be spending most of your day in the parks. While the Hyatt Regency isn't as convenient as the GCH, I think staying there on points or free nights will be great.

For what it is worth, we are going to WDW next year and decided to stay at off site at the Hyatt on free nights & points. We are used to commuting to parks in CA and figure we'll use the money saved for LL, meals, and souvenirs.

Hope you have a great trip!

Thank you so much! I appreciate it. I agree about Hyatt House, I didn't want to stay there again even though it's closer. The Hyatt Regency shuttle seems pretty convenient.

With the map posted above the Hyatt Regency shuttle drop off is at the hotel shuttle drop off area.

Shuttle seating depends on how many people are coming and going. We got seats no problem. If you’re not towards the front of the line for the first morning run, you won’t be on the first trip. The first morning trip to the park had 2 shuttles running. We got in line at 6:30 am with a good 30 people in front of us and we got on the 2nd shuttle.

You can take the shuttle back and forth all day. Your ticket purchased is good for all day. Driver’s lunch times are posted in shuttle so definitely take note of that. Driver’s do accept tips as well. Tips are optional and they have a tip basket in the front of the shuttle.

Very easy and convenient.

Just got back from four nights at Hyatt house. It’s a basic hotel but the Walgreens and Starbucks below was amazing. Breakfast is included. It’s nothing fantastic but it does the job! Easy walk to and from the parks and never having to wait for transportation was great.

We only slept there- didn’t use any pools or workout facilities. We booked using Hyatt/Chase points so we stayed for “free”and I would do it again in a heartbeat!

I originally booked the regency but decided against dealing with a shuttle and was glad I did.

This is a great list of places to stay for those that want to be within walking distance to the parks.

I think I have "dittoed" Pluto about 8-9 times over the last couple of years on these hotels 😄
