Disneyland offsite hotel recommendations

Thanks for the review of Hyatt Regency. I'm staying there in January and I've been wondering if it's as good as it looks! Are the shuttles super crowded or is usually easy to get a seat?
we have stayed at the Hyatt a few times. I would say the first shuttle of the day is the one that is most crowded after that there's only a few people waiting both at the hotels and at the parks. Just note that they have some rooms renovated some not. The renovated rooms are great and the hotel over all is great. They have a Starbucks, a mini arcade, a souvenir type store, and two other restaurants along with a small store with snacks, ice cream and stuff. The rooms that have not been renovated are ok just updated ones are better.

Thanks! Hopefully we get a renovated room :)

One more shuttle question! Is it hard to get a shuttle back at the end of the night? That's my main concern. It's definitely too far to walk if we missed the last one.

It’s about two miles straight up Harbor. Back in the day, we use to stay at the then-Crowne Plaza (now Delta Hotel) further up the street and always walked. Plenty of people out walking at all hours, and it took about 40 minutes.

Alternatively, you could take the Toy Story parking shuttle, which will cut the walk down to about 15 minutes.

Doesn’t look like ART goes into Garden Grove anymore. Those hotels are now using their own shared busses.

Thanks! We wouldn't be able to walk but the Toy Story shuttle is a good idea if we missed the last Hyatt Regency bus.

There is always rideshare.
It can be tough to book at a ride share at closing. Fares are cheap enough that many families will try for a ride share over the ART/ their hotel’s shuttle. It’s often $6-$8 each way, meaning the driver will pocket $4-$6. At closing, there’s no demand back to DLR, so a driver will have to pocket $4-$6 for a ride that will consume 20 minutes (going back to DLR after dropping off). Thus, most drivers will hold out for locals - especially those traveling to Los Angeles-area.

No last time we stayed there they ran the last shuttle 1 hr after park closed. We would leave in the middle of the day and just wait at the bench. Buses came around every 15 or so minutes. There’s usually two buses one picking up at Hyatt and one dropping n off. It’s their own shuttle.
If anything you can also just get an uber or check the ART bus schedule to see which one leaves you closest
