I have 4 days in DL August 11,12,13,14 (mon-thurs). What can I expect for lines and is this enough time to see & do everything?

According to the Disney calendar, the park hours for those days are 8:00am - 12:00am. That means they are expecting large crowds. It probably won't be as bad as mid June thru July but I would figure it will be busy.

One good thing is that SoCal APs are still blocked out that week.

I think 4 days is enough. Make sure to read Hydroguy's tips.

I also think 4 days is enough, but I love to go 5 days so I can see everything and more. :)

Realize that this is the week before the Disney Magic leaves back to Florida. So a lot of cruisers are planning on coming in a couple of days or more before the cruise to visit the parks. I know that we will be there Aug 14-16, getting on the ship the 17th.

We will be there then too, August 11th - 16th. I too expect it to be crowded. But having survived WDW over christmas and New Year and not found that bad I figure this week will be managable.

What are SoCal AP's?

What are SoCal AP's?

They are annual passes available only to people living in zip codes in the southern california area. They are the lowest priced ones, but they do have their drawbacks (no discounts, the most blackout dates)

I personally think they are not worth it since almost all weekends are blocked out, as is most of the summer.

I went last year with some friends (see Trip report) and we are returning at the same time again this year. We were only there for 2 1/2 days and we got on 58 rides plus we saw Fantasmic, fireworks, electric parade, DCA day parade, and the Aladdin Musical. So it's definitely possible. I will add that we were in the parks a total of 38 hours in those 2 1/2 days (which is like literally half of the time), so there was not much rest.

The key ideas to keep in mind when trying to do a lot during a busy period of time is:
a) Arrive early, early, early
b) Use FastPass as much as possible. Read Hydroguy's tips!
c) Understand each attraction. You want to ride the non-FP rides with low capacities first and save the high capacity rides for the busy afternoon.
d) Arrive early, early, early

and if you don't mind being split up or riding with a stranger, some of the rides have single rider lines that are really a great thing! My DS rode on California Screamin 12 times yesterday doing this - this is after taking advantage of MM and riding Space Mountain three times, the Matterhorn once, Teacups three times, then Peter Pan, Alice, Snow White, Mr. Toad and having breakfast BEFORE going to DCA.

We found most of the wait times to be very manageable in the a.m. - less than 15 minutes for each, including Tower of Terror, etc. The afternoons are a different story though - the Fast Pass line at Soarin Over California was scary yesterday afternoon - so much so that we just skipped it altogether.
