Disneyland is Making Things Harder For Me For Rare Characters

I heard Disneyland is doing an annual passholder party in November 17th, and I thought that this will be my chance to find rare characters, but I found out that it's for passholders that expired between November 22 thru January 30 2016, and my expired in November 16. And here's my reaction for that: I hope Disneyland is going to try something special for rare characters next year.
If you're planning to renew, then any AP can register you as their guest.

Rare characters and special character events are a double edged sword. The lines grow and are cut off very quickly. I went to one after hours event where you basically had to choose 2 of the 4 because after 20 minutes the lines were capped for the night. At the Long Lost Friends events it reached the point where the same pool of people were coming every day so they could go through the lines over and over to get pictures with characters while they wore various outfits/disneybounding/costumes. And again, lines got cut off before guests who didn't want to dedicate hours to waiting could get in lines. I completely understand why it's not worth it to manage those lines when the majority of guests are satisfied with the current rotation of characters. They could change some of the characters meals, like switch out Chip & Dale from one. But I also understand why they have some overlap between parks and meals. If people didn't have an option to pay to see Mickey, Minnie or Goofy, they'd complain about how hard it is to meet them in the parks and vice versa if they weren't in the parks people would complain about having to pay for the meal.

As far as Brer Fox goes, there's always WDW. In my 7 trips there, I've never missed seeing Brer Fox or Brer Bear. It would be nice if they were wandering around Critter Country at least once each day. While the little kids love the 100 Acre Woods gang, they grow out of that phase fast. Part of the problem, though, is the fact that Disney won't release Song of the South "legally" in the States. I'm one of the few who have a decent edition on DVD, but I'd love to one day have it broadly released so that folks can truly appreciate this film and then the ride. Then you'd see those characters a lot more around the park.

I would settle for a meet and greet with Daisy Duck.

I've seen Daisy at Minnie's breakfast and she's regular at Mickey's breakfast. You can also see her at the Disney Visa M&G if you have a Disney Visa card by Chase.

I think the Disney Visa Meet & Greet is transitioning to Star Wars themed meet & greet sometime in the very near future (it just says "Fall 2015").

They're adding one in DL, have they said they're discontinuing the one in DCA?

Ah...okay, that's great news for folks that aren't Star Wars fans. I had thought it was replacing the one in DCA, but it looks it's going to be a new offering in DL.

I'm pretty sure they will still have both. This comes from the Disney Visa website -

That's a very good point. But I wish to see Brer Foxat Disneyland again. I guess all I can do is e-mail Disneyland.

Well, now I got my annual pass renewed, does anybody have a list of annual passholder events for finding rare characters?

They haven't announced any and haven't said if they will be continuing them this year. I believe the last one was announced with 2 weeks notice. They do them about every 3 months, so with the last one being in November the next one would be in February if it happens. However, if you just renewed then you would need someone whose pass is expiring in the eligible window to register you. At the last party there weren't any rate characters, just the regular character sin different outfits. Chip & Dale in western outfits, Goofy and Donald as pirates and Mickey and Minnie in their holiday outfits. There were also photo ops with a sleigh and you could go into Launch Bay and take pictures at the backdrops without the characters. I believe the next special photo op, besides running in one of the races will be "love week" around Valentine's where in the past they have had couples out together.

And yet, nobody even tried to help me to find rare characters. I hate to be a debbie downer, but it looks like the Disneyland executives are bunch of anti-classic rare character jerks.
Unless if there's an annual passholder party coming.

I find tracking down most characters at DLR very difficult compared to WDW. Over 10 days last trip we couldn't connect with Flynn Rider we would come back when the attendant would say but "he had to go feed Maximus" over and over again. Very disappointing for my wee Rapunzel. I am actually not sure why they do t have a great variety in the character meals, it is basically the same characters at all of them, it would be great if the dos a Pixar one, a Disney junior one, a villains one etc. even at the Halloween party we found it hard to get to see many

I think they should tear down Chip and Dales defunct house in Toon Town and create a character meal.... Daisy's backyard BBQ. Bring the food over from Big Thunder BBQ. "Guests" are lesser seen residents of Toon Town- Pete, Clarabelle, Horace, Scrooge, etc etc. I'm not even a huge character meal person, but I think this would really boost Toon Town.

I am surprised TT is sourcing the addition of Star Wars land

I'm going to e-mail Disneyland to find the perfect time to go find rare characters at maybe some annual passholder events. Hope it helps.
