Disneyland is a work of love: June 2010 PTR 6/2 p.61 updated itinerary

I think October is plenty warm to lay by the pool but we live in Utah now so once it hits 60*, we are in flip-flops. I would plan on it. Anaheim is inland and about 10* warmer than along the coast. :thumbsup2

Oh that's great to hear, I am really looking forward to a bit of r and r too, but at the same time want to see and do everything too! I did a bit of organization atleast with regard to what days we're doing what. Taking you up on your suggestion to go to Huntington Beach, thought that would be nice to do the 1st evening when we're staying at the Hampton Inn. I actually thought maybe we could stroll there and then come back and stroll at DD. Though it will be a long day of travel, I figure sleep and rest is over-rated.

Wow! You get around! What kind of work are you in? Sorry if that's too nosy.

I run a manufacturing company and go over to meet with customers and do inspections at the plant. Definitely no too nosy! Ask away!

:cloud9: Sounds heavenly. I was talking to DH last night and we are thinking that since we will have 6 full days in So Cal we really should head to the beach one day. Either that or lay by the GCV pool and have a cocktail or 3.
I really think I need to decompress and HH with my best friend is the place. I had 75 points left to use or lose and it's so difficult for my DH to get off. Plus, my DBF had a baby a year ago and it's tough to get together with her schedule and mine so this is the perfect way to hang out uninterrupted. I'm taking her for her birthday!

Target rocks! :woohoo:
I hear ya sista! Unfortunately, it's also the place I can go in to, needing nothing and spending WAY WAY too much!:rotfl::rotfl:

They do have the bday party at the Plaza Inn still I think. We saw people of all ages celebrating. We did my DD's bday there when she turned 5. :thumbsup2
I haven't ruled it out yet -- I'm still thinking it would be a blast! And since everyone is leaving the planning up to me....you will do as I say (right?)

I am so excited to hear about your trip! Please take lots of pics of the room, we got a 2 bedroom too so I'll be anxious to hear what your views are etc. I was cracking up the other day, I was telling my DH about the big ferris wheel and he was like, I'll go on that (he typically doesn't ride too many rides..sissy:rotfl:)!!! I was like, no way you'll go on that! We placed a bet and then we were looking at the vacation dvd I ordered from Disney and he saw that ferris wheel with the baskets and I swear turned white as a ghost!!! I actually told him that you call it the Wheel of Death!!! Oh my gosh, I haven't laughed that long in a very long long time!:rotfl2:

I tell the kids: you can sleep at home. :rotfl2: Huntington Beach is a fabulous beach! :thumbsup2 There are a ton of great shops and restaurants. I really like Chimayo- it's right on the beach and not spendy at all. The make a great salad with blackened chicken and pine nuts. So good. The beach itself is great too. It's my other happy place. I tell DH, I want half of my ashes on Main St in Disneyland and the other in the Pacific off HB.

Are you hiring?

I went earlier today and only spent $35.

Absolutely! Heck, we do the planning the least the rest can do is go along without interupting!

I will take TONS of photos, I always do. I am hoping and praying we get the villa I requested too. pixiedust:

There is nothing fun about the fun wheel. :scared: The swinging cars put me over the edge!

Pictures!! Oooh maybe we will see each other in our pictures!!!

We will be riding the fun wheel, but not the moving cars. I love the view from up there. So there will be pictures.

Oooo, fun! I hadn't thought of that! :thumbsup2

The view is amazing. My oldest will ride anything except for the Wheel of Death! :scared1:

My oldest will not go near it. She never has she has this huge fear of ferris wheels, I have no clue why. She will ride everything else.

I think it's that hanging in the air that freaks me out. If it kept moving it wouldn't be so bad but all that starting and stopping is so unnerving!

You know it could be that.

:mickeyjum 20 days!!! :mickeyjum

Today we are going to do some shopping for the trip after religious school. We are going to Justice and Old Navy. The kids need shorts and sunglasses. :yay: I love a little trip shopping!

Happy Sunday! :grouphug:

Thanks for the heads up on Chimayo, I just noted it on my spreadsheet. The blackened chicken sold me! Your funny, I think spreading your ashed 1/2 and 1/2 is a great idea and what better places than those you named!

Are you hiring?

Come on over to the east coast! I could use a fellow DVC, Disney addict on my side. THey all laugh at me at work, I have my Cinderella wand in my office from our dinner at the castle. I sometimes use it when people expect magic...

What an awesome gift! Best friend time cannot be beat. :goodvibes HH looks super!

I'm really excited about this trip. I'm excited to see HH and excited to see the Disney HH. Before she had the baby, we used to have lots of little weekends and trips together, but even though I don't have kids, I definitely understand how your life changes when you have them. I didn't want to be one of those friends that stops being your friend when you have kids, so I really try to make the effort to be involved...and she does too so that's nice. Her little girls calls me Aunt Muffin, it's really cute!

I went earlier today and only spent $35.
WOW! That definitely deserves a happy dance!

Absolutely! Heck, we do the planning the least the rest can do is go along without interupting!
Either put up or shut up so if they don't want to take part in the planning, it's on them:lmao:. I did decide the one day that they go down to Hollywood/LA, that may be the day I take for myself...massage, laying by the pool, reading, cocktails..cocktails and did I say cocktails?

I will take TONS of photos, I always do. I am hoping and praying we get the villa I requested too. pixiedust:

Well if you get it, you'll have to let me know which one it was so I can check it out. Lots and lots of pixie dust your waypixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust: I'm so excited to see your pics. I've read all of your TR's so I know I'm going to see lots - so excited!

There is nothing fun about the fun wheel. :scared: The swinging cars put me over the edge!

I think that was what sent him over the edge! I really was cracking up at his reaction. It's funny, I can do loopy roller coasters, etc., but ever since I was little, the ferris wheels always made me sick. I dont get it, but its the only ride I won't ride.

That did it for my DH - the baskets just hanging out there, swinging in the breeze. I would pay a 100 dollars to see his face if he made it onto the ride. My nephew would have to video that!

Have a great Sunday everyone and enjoy your day!!

And if you go to Chimayo wait for an outside table if it's warm enough- it's SO worth it. :thumbsup2

:rotfl2: I have a Disneyland snowglobe on mine so when the patients stress me out I can shake my globe and think happy thoughts.

Adorable! It's good for mama to get away too. I have three children and my girlfriends are every bit as important as they ever were.

WOW! That definitely deserves a happy dance!

::yes:: You said cocktails. We went to Mexico for a week this past March. I posted a trip report in the DVC misc. section as we traded into RCI and I wanted people to see it was an awesome trade. I think I posted the photo link in this trippe- I will find it and repost. It was ALL about the cocktails.

I have faxed twice and called once so hopefully I get my request on sheer tenacity.

:scared1: Sounds horrific: swinging in the breeze. :faint:

Yeah vacation shopping!!!:yay: Best part of the vacation prep!

Have a great Sunday everyone and enjoy your day!!

Got back from shopping and didn't do too much damage. Went to Justice and Old Navy. I had the Justice 40% off email which was great and their catazine and although the prices don't go in to effect until Thursday they honored the catazine prices for me today. :woohoo: I got Chloe 4 pairs of shorts, 2 flip flops, and a tankini. Gab got a pair of sandals and a pair of shorts. I am also buying things for the kids for camp- they are going to CO for 2 weeks for Jewish summer camp. Old Navy didn't have nearly the deals but I did buy DS a swim shirt and 2 pairs of shorts. Oh and I bought myself a pair of shorts. They were on sale and a size 2. :cool1: Not sure it gets any better than that.

You didn't do too bad at the store today. Old Navy is the oddest place to shop sometimes they have the best prices and the next they don't.

This is in regards to the Plaza Inn birthday celebration.....last page (right on top of things aren't I).......lol
We HATED it.....sorry for those who liked it.....but we did this last year for our 8 yr old & even the 3 yr old hated it. I found it not worth the money........for that price you could almost get a character meal!! The "host" never came close to our table, the cake was dry, the frosting is dyed brightly & my 4 yr old left Disneyland with red eyebrows, Mickey & Minnie aren't there very long & you can't get an autograph!!! You can line up for a picture but that's it!! Very disappointed in it.
My son will be turning 21 on our first day this summer & I can tell you he'd kill us if he was made to go to that!!! :lmao:
He loves Goofy's Kitchen so we're doing a late breakfast there to celebrate & then doing dinner at Rainforest....maybe order him his first drink!!

Any ways.......
I agree with the Mickey FunWheel being the wheel of death!!! :scared1: They'd never get me on there & if by some strange chance they did....I'd be dead when they hauled me off of it!!! YIKES!!

Thier sale section was pretty well picked over.

We did it in 2005 so it may have gone downhill since then. Pat E Cake, while uber corny, came to every table. Mickey and Minnie were great too and signed Chloe's book.

I now have 2 Ridemax itineraries for each day. :thumbsup2 Too bad they will end up crumpled up on the bottom of my bag.

It sucks that the sale section was picked over.

Out of curiosity is the planning the favorite part of the trip for you?

I know. I avoid Old Navy in general because it's always such a zoo but csan always find something for DS.

 I do love to plan. I love to plan anything though. I am a HUGE list maker too. I loved school, truly loved it, because there was always something to investigate. I'd go back for my PhD but my Masters was spendy enough. One of these days..........................:cloud9:
