Okay so this is old news I think but I need to know if this is true or not. Does anyone know if Disney is really going to build a park in Houston or not? Last year a coworker said she saw something on the news saying that Disney had bought some land in Houston or something to that effect. Then yesterday I asked a friend who lives near the "proposed" site and she said that yes they were going to be building a park in Houston. This would be my dream come true!!! I just want to know if this is a rumor or not and any info you have on it would be greatly appreciated.

K, I would actually consider leaving Dallas for Houston if this was true!!!

well, i will say that you are right in that this is old news. that has been around for years. first I10 between houston and beaumont. then between houston and san antonio. then up I45 near plantersville. seems like this park is gonna be everywhere. :earboy2:

Living in Houston, I would say that I hope this isn't true (which I do not believe it is true). Half of the fun of going to Walt Disney World is being in Florida - away from home.

Honestly though, I really doubt that there is any validity to this. Disney is focused, rightfully so, on other international markets. India and China really.

I hope it isn't near Houston...your road system couldn't handle the increased traffic ;) Plus given the price of land and the acreage needed, it is highly doubtful.

I would not want anything in Texas, and I'm from Houston. Take that money and put it into WDW. You dont need another US Park. People will travel by plane or car to Florida, its not that big of a deal.

Houston in the summer! Will make Orlando feel like Maine.

I think the first time I heard this rumor I was about 8 years old.
I turned 42 last November...

The land they bought in houston is for warehouse for the parks. With WDW being in the east and DL in the west, it is good to have something centrally located.
