I am planning a few days in California. What Disneyland hotel would you suggest? In addition,What type of discounts do DVC members receive if cash is paid for the rooms and not use our points. ::MickeyMo

We stayed at the Grand Californian on points two years ago. It is a beautiful hotel.

We had 100 points banked and had to use them. Since I just had a baby (Feb. 6), we weren't going to WDW anytime before our banked points expired. So, we decided to drive the 20 miles to Disneyland and stay at the Grand Californian. We used our points to stay 2 nights concierge, DCA view. I know that I could have spent 5 days at WDW with those points, but it was well worth it!! The CM's were super, we got our room at noon, & the concierge lounge was great. We ended up eating one meal at the parks and the rest of the time we snacked at the lounge! We have annual passes, so our vacation was very economical! To make a short answer long, I would recommend the Grand Californian. It is the western Wilderness Lodge (or a close facsimile).

Good luck and enjoy your time at DL & DCA.
