Disneyland Hotel Trip 22.10.09

Returned last night from a 4 night 5 day stay in the Disneyland hotel. Its a beautiful hotel and very very clean. Room was large 2 double beds with a view over the garden and swimming pool. Ate in the California Grill first night had the set menu, gasspacio tomato and basil soup, then steak and ice cream for desert. Second night ate at Inventions buffet. Nice food but very busy. Booked again for the California Grill on the 3rd night but unfortunately there was a fire in the kitchen so had to go to inventions again. Fourth night we went to the Buffalo bills show , food was very poor but plentiful and was what we expected anyway.

The park overall was quiet on the Thursday/Friday but Sat/Sun/Mon it was very busy. Lots of Halloween decorations and shows etc. we went to the Not so scary halloween party, the setting in the park was really spooky. Daughter got upset when FRollo took off her mickey ears and threw them away and then his henchman jumped on her and pushed her about. Not really a good experience and very upsetting for her.

Amazing show at the end of the halloween party in front of the castle, really beautiful. We went in the pool a couple of times and used the sauna and steam room which was really relaxing. Managed to get on most of the rides but had to queue for 45 min's for most of them unless we used the fast passes. I was very surprised to see lots of small children going on some of the rides where they were way under the height restrictions. Best rides in Disneyland park were Big Thunder Mountain and Pirates of the Caribbean. Small World was also good but the music seems to have stuck in my head, i am still humming it now - AAAAARRRGGGHH.

Walt Disney studios was very busy and we used our fast pass to go on Rock and Roller coaster, we didn't know what to expect and we nearly crapped ourselves, wow what a ride.

We walked so much over the 5 days i have blisters on my feet but overall a brilliant time. I would say that the staff at Disney are brilliant. They are so helpful and will do anything to keep you happy, Its a shame that we didn't get such good service in the UK at the airport. Staff were really unhelpful, total opposite to the airport staff in Paris who were really good.

This was our 1st time using the airport , and omg what a shambles

We hadnt a clue where to go , but we soon found it lol

sounds like a lovely trip - did the fire in kitchen cause an evacuation or was it all under control? Your poor daughter getting a scare hope the rest of the holiday made it up for her. Have to say i am sometimes amazed at how young some of the children riding the rides seem, especially TOT, but I have to say they must make the height restriction as the staff are always so vigilent - indeed it will be my daughters first ride on Indiana Jones this year even though she was barely under the limit last year they would not let her on - i was glad to see them being so strict.

The staff at CDG were really good, it was birmingham where the staff were unhelpful. There wasnt an evacuation re the fire in the kitchen, they just closed the restraunt

That's a shame. How old is your daughter? A lot of people would have enjoyed that level of interaction, I guess it depends on your child though.
