Sorry, no need to reply. I called back and spoke with someone else who knew that this was possible and was able to book for me.Does anyone know if you can book a cabana at the Disneyland Hotel pool if you are staying at the Grand Californian? I thought I read somewhere on these boards about someone doing just that. However, I just called reservations and they said you can only book the cabana of your same hotel.
Stick with GCH.May I ask why you chose to book a cabana at DLH instead of GCH? We have a trip in July that includes a longish last day with no park reservation, and I was thinking a cabana could be a nice way to end the trip. We are staying at GCH. Is there a reason I should think about a DLH cabana instead of GCH? We are two adults, no kids, if that changes your thoughts.
I think a GCH cabana would be great for you! I only booked DLH because we are staying at GCH and have never stayed at either hotel and wanted to be able to check out the pool at DLH (2 kids and the theming there is classic Disney) and that’s the only way to visit it. If it was just the two adults, I would have booked GCH.May I ask why you chose to book a cabana at DLH instead of GCH? We have done this a couple of times: book a cabana at DLH when we stay at GCH. Reason is to mix it up and enjoy an afternoon at a different pool for the kids - we love it and have even had local friends join us for the day. 10/10 recommendMay I ask why you chose to book a cabana at DLH instead of GCH? It should be 60 days. They may have been mistaken or booked up already if you tried after the 60 day mark. I would try calling again. How soon can you do cabana rental? I tried for disneyland hotel Oct 4th, within 60 days. Was told they cannot see that far ahead.
Thanks, I did call again and I was able to book.It should be 60 days. They may have been mistaken or booked up already if you tried after the 60 day mark. I would try calling again.
Wasn't really impressed by the GCH cabana we had in November. After initial greeting, there really wasn't a lot of "service" (and, no, I'm not an entitled brat - I just expected more). Most importantly, our cabana faced directly on a shallow pool that was essentially a kiddies pool. Which, if you have children, would be ideal - keep an eye on them while you relax - but, we were 4 adults so, didn't love the vibe.
We're staying at DLH this November and, are considering trying a cabana there but, may just take our chances with loungers and spend the $350 on lots and lots of lovely cocktails and snacks. Looking forward to the monorail waterslide too!!
I’m curious what went wrong with your service. Did they give you the button to press in case you need anything? We had such horrible service at a GCH cabana that they refunded us our money and offered to book us a cabana for free the next day. We had plans to be in the parks all day so we declined. We haven’t done a cabana at GCH since, but we’ve done the DLH cabana quite a few times. But I have a kiddo that loves the water slides there.
There was no button that I remember. This was 5 years ago. It was pretty chilly when we got there and our room wasn’t ready, so we asked for a blanket so we could keep warm and hang out on the couch and watch TV since it was too cold for us adults to go into the pool (our daughter doesn’t care about temperature if there is a pool nearby). The attendant said it’d be no problem to get a blanket and then left. We went to turn on the tv and it wouldn’t turn on. We didn’t see her for another 30 minutes. When we asked again about the blanket and now the TV, she said she’d go get a blanket and someone to fix the TV. Another 30 minutes goes by so we call guest services who said they would send the cabana attendant over. Then another 30-45 minutes goes by. At that point it had started to warm up and we went ourselves to get extra towels and used those to keep warm. Once food service started, the server notified maintenance that the tv wasn’t working. The attendant came back a couple of hours later. Still no blanket but it wasn’t needed by then. Every time we asked her for the blanket it was like it was the first time we asked. This time told her to not worry about the blanket because we no longer needed it. Her response was, “Oh I’m sorry, was someone supposed to get you a blanket?” My husband and I kept joking that our attendant was actually identical triplets and we were actually asking a different person to help us every time, that’s why she couldn’t remember what we needed. After that, we didn’t see the cabana attendant again until it was time to vacate. To top everything off, they must have been short-staffed that day because the server was super overwhelmed. She was nice and got us everything we asked for, but we really had to work at flagging her down. I had given up on getting any help from her and was just mildly irritated with the situation but the people in the cabana next to us were pretty upset. A manager came out to talk to them and us since we were still there. Honestly, we had horrible service that entire stay at GCH. It was really disappointing and I couldn’t convince my husband to stay there again until last year when it was the only on-site hotel open. GCH thankfully redeemed itself on that trip.I’m curious what went wrong with your service. Did they give you the button to press in case you need anything?
That definitely sounds like service was not up to standards that day! Sorry to hear that. There was no button that I remember. This was 5 years ago. But I’m not even sure if they have designated cabana attendants any longer beyond when you check-in and out of the cabana. No one came by to check on us at all besides our server (who was wonderful) until the end of the day when we had a cabana at the DLH this March. We didn’t need anything so we were bothered by it, though.
