Disneyland Halloween Party - Villians?!

Question.

I live by Disney World and am venturing in October to Disneyland.

Here, you have to pay an additional price on top of your MNSSHP Ticket, to meet the Villians at an actual special Villians party... which I refuse to do, because it's almost as much as the entrance ticket to the park for the event to start with.

I heard that you have to pay at Disneyland to see the Villians as well... Can anyone confirm truth to this claim? Also, if it is correct, can you give a price estimation on cost?

Upon reading the Disneyland Website, it sounds like the characters are just in Times Square to meet and greet with everyone as long as you're willing to wait in line.

I would like to know for certain, because the answer is going to be the difference between whether we attend the event or not. Thank You!!!!!!!

Nope, no extra fee! The villains meet out at the beginning of Main Street and rotate. There are three of them at a time that meet and then they switch at different points in the night.

Last year, you could pay for the Blue Bayou thing and can meet Dr. Facilier. I'm not sure if they are having that this year or not. But it isn't missing much, as it was only Dr. Facilier that was at the Blue Bayou. The rest of the villains meet at the town square.

Disneyland also has a special hard-ticket event called Mickey's Halloween Party. At the event, guests can meet villains in Town Square that are usually not available to meet guests during the day (e.g., Maleficent). Some villains (like the Evil Queen, Cruella) do meet during the day in various locations throughout the park. So, if you don't buy the MHP tickets (which range from $72 to $99, depending on the night and other discounts), you still have a chance to meet some villains, but if you buy the MHP tickets you can meet more (and rarer) villains. There is no additional fee to meet the villains once you've bought your MHP ticket.

There are more villains out in the parks during a regular park day at DL than there is at WDW. Last year we saw Frollo, Captain Hook and Jafar during the park day. But the bulk of the villains were only out at the party. We met Hades, Jafar, Governor Ratcliff, Maleficent, Evil Queen and Cruella in Town Square at the party.

At least for now, Dr. Facilier is also available most days by the Mark Twain Riverboat, with regular park admission.

Keep in mind that they only brought Frollo, QoH and Jafar out for Halloween time, they are not out regularly now, and with the apparent cutbacks everywhere, I would not count on them bringing them back for halloweentime. I would love it if they do, but I wouldn't plan on skipping a party while planning to just meet them during the day.

Cruella, Evil Queen, and Facilier are out regularly now, and odds are good they will remained so throughout halloweentime
