Disneyland Halloween Half Marathon Weekend 2025 (September 4-7)

I’m really hoping you’re right. Following the warm (and very persuasive) glow from my first runDisney event last weekend, I signed up for the challenge forgetting the horrible heat from last year. I’m a little terrified and just hoping 2024 temps were a random blight and not the norm 😅🙏🏻
It varies. I ran the 2011 and 2012 Disneyland Half Marathons over Labor Day weekend (one week earlier) and I would describe the weather as warm, but not hot. While I was in Disneyland for Labor Day 2013, but not running, the temps were 105+ and extremely hot.

Having spent many a summer day in Disneyland, there is a huge difference between high 90s and 105+.

I will say that you should anticipate very long photo lines in front of the pumpkin regardless of the temperature. However, as others indicated, the heat wave for the 2024 Halloween Half Marathon definitely suppressed the crowds. I have some photos where the park looks empty because the crowds were so low.

I am trying to book flights, does anyone know when bib pick up is? If we arrive Saturday morning, and get to the parks around noon, is that enough time? Thanks!

ETA: He is just running the half on Sunday.

Assuming everything goes according to plan with the flight, that gives you enough time if they keep current Saturday hours with the Expo closimg at 4:00pm.

However, if something goes awry and the flight is late, you could miss the Expo altogether and have to hope that they offer emergency bib pick up Sunday morning before the race at Runner Relations.

Official written runDisney policy says no bib pick up the morning of the race as that must be done at the Expo. However, they have unofficially offered emergency bib pick up race morning at Runner Relations. Emergency bib pickup does not include the race shirt.

And because it's not official policy, it's always possible that they could not offer bib pick up day of the race in the future.

The safest thing to do would be see if you can get an earlier flight, even if that means coming in the night before and getting one more night in a hotel room.

Thank you! I appreciate it. I'll see if I can arrange an earlier flight then. Thanks.

saw the 10k opened for a hot minute (maybe 2) today. I was driving and couldn't get DW registered.

How does everyone get to the start line? Do you all walk there? Does Disney offer any sort of bussing? Thanks!
Many hotels within the vicinity of Disneyland are within walking distance of race start. Obviously, where you are staying will determine just how far of a walk to and from the start/finish lines you have.

What hotels are you thinking of staying at?

Considering walking was the way to get there, I just booked the GCH. I was mostly worried about him getting back after the race, but he will probably be ok to walk back after he rests for a bit. Then he can sit by the pool that afternoon! Thanks for your help.

The GCH is not too terribly far from the start/finish line. I think that for this past race weekend, the GCH offered a shuttle to and from the start/finish line. GCH is much closer to the area than the other two onsite hotels.

There was definitely a shuttle to and from the race from the Grand for both the Halloween race last year and the Disneyland half last weekend. It works really well. If you don't take the bus you have to deal with all the people going through security to get to the parks. It can take a really long time!

Perfect! Thank you!

I've ran multiple WDW races, but this will be my first one at Disneyland, so exciting. Even more so now that I've also signed up for Wine and Dine so will be getting my coast-to-coast medal as well 😃.
What is the situation for spectator viewing in Disneyland? Is there viewing at the start and finish lines? Do they allow spectators into the parks, like they do on Main Street in Magic Kingdom, before the parks open?

There will be viewing area at the start and finish lines. However, for the 10k and half, no spectators would allow into both parks. Basically you will have the whole Main Street area for runners only with cast members cheering you. However, there would be area where runners will run from one park to another and spectators can view from there.

Just a note on the 5K, the start line is on Main Street inside Disneyland, so there is no viewing of the start unless you have a bib. The finish line (assuming it doesn't change) is inside DCA at the end of Pixar Pier near the hotels, and spectators have been allowed there. I've seen mixed reviews on how complicated it is to get to that spot, so I'd check with the info desk at the expo to get the best route and timing.
