Unless they've changed it from last year, they did turn off the ability to share links during OBB sales last year. We could share during the MK presale, but not when general was rescheduled. But with email notification turned on, I wonder if sharing might also be back. Those email notifications when I've used them for other sites give you a link to click.

Honestly that might help with some of the issues. Would love them to activate these for the races too even with how quick they sell out.

And agreed it's also a pretty good indication we hopefully won't see race registration rescheduled until at least the week after next lol

Ability was back on for sharing links during the presale. Someone sent me one earlier and while it ended up erroring out due to WiFi problems. It’s definitely at least possible to share it or was during presale. Will be curious if it will be during general.

Yup. I commented in that thread about it much earlier today as we realized the ability was definitely back.

Agreed. I really hope they implement the email for rD. You would think it would help lighten the server load at least and make it easier on everyone.

Exactly! It's such a fantastic feature and I do think it lightens the load a bit because people aren't sitting on the site the whole time.

I know things sell fast, but it's still worth having just in case you saw 20 minutes and you walked away to do something, but now it's suddenly 10 minutes in that moment. Plus the races could very well go back to what was happening in 2016/17 when they started to sell out much slower (and sometimes not at all).

Plus failsafe of having the link if you forget to grab your Queue ID on an incognito window and accidentally close it!

Yeah, I will say I am intrigued they decided to go for next week, the week of the 4th because it is a big holiday week. I expect many people are traveling or took the week off since the 4th landed on Thursday and therefore might be restricted to their mobile devices for registration.

No guarantees, but probably

Yes, obviously they could change their mind (and we’ll see what happens with September’s races) but I’d proceed with the assumption that they’ll use the same start area.

Does it depend on the race? Last time I raced (a few years ago) I think the kids races were over by Disneyland Hotel, and the 5K started inside Disneyland Park... ending near Disneyland Hotel?

When it was run in 2017, they had most of the activities around DLH. This past January, everything was moved to a parking lot in Disney Way just east of Harbor Boulevard, right behind Grand Legacy at the Park.

If it's helpful, here are the actual route maps that were in the event guide for 2024. The start/finish was the Pumbaa CM lot on Disney Way (big change from what many of us were used to with the last race held at DLR in 2017) for all but the 5k which did start DL and end DCA. Kid races were also in that lot (as mentioned above) instead of where they were 7 years ago:

It'll be interesting to see what changes from this for the Halloween race weekend and if the route stays similar for 2025.

Haha....I don't drink coffee or alcohol so I'd be out.

I didn't sleep much last night, out of fear of oversleeping. (Despite the fact I wake up by 7 am pretty much every day.)

As for me, I have TTPD on, to keep me hyped up. Haha.
