I've already seen when people are arriving but what are you all going to do when you first arrive?

I won't be leaving my area until 1:30p or so (darn school!) so I probably won't be there until 3pm.

Does anyone want to meet up prior to dinner?

Why or why did I look at her link?!?!?!?! Not shopping, not shopping.

But they're so cute!!! I'm trying to decide if I want to get 1 ... or 2 ... or ... more!!!

And is the shipping still $5 for $75???

Beth~ I'll going over the list tonight to see if everything looks OK. A couple people PM'd me to add them to Blue Bayou so I have to call to see if I'm able to add them. Also, it looks like lisadoll93 (Lisa) is cancelling.

Well I'm back. We had a great trip and it is exactly what I needed to escape reality. I seriously didn't want to come home last night. I thought about calling to extend our flights and staying for longer, but the kids Spring Break was over and they really can't miss school :headache: .

The crowds weren't as bad as I thought they would be and the weather was nice and warm with only bad rain showers this past Sunday.

We want to all the Disney Parks, plus Typhoon Lagoon and Universal. Ellen's show was taping at Universal while we were there & we saw her as she went to her set in Citywalk from Islands of Adventures. My DD thought this was great. Even though we are Disney lovers, we love the onsite hotels at Universal and the "Front of the Line" access you get while staying onsite (we stayed at Hard Rock Hotel).

Well I need to catch up at work so I'll talk to you all later.

P.S. After 11 days of vacationing with my preteen children, I'm REALLY ready for this adults only trip :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: .
Just let me know if I need to make any list changes.
Glad to hear you had fun!!! That's great. I was thinking about you and hoping you were enjoying your time there.

I had a one day trip to Disneyland with my mom and little sister yesterday.

Let me just say, I am SO glad I'm going with all you ladies in a couple of weeks. My mom was very disenchanted with Disneyland which made me a bit down. I'm glad I'll be going with a bunch of enthusiasts to cheer me up!
I'm sorry to hear that. If it makes you feel any better my mom does not get Disney at all. She does not understand how or why we can go so often. And she never will. But that's ok, she's my mom and I love her even if she is strange that way. LOL

There are a bunch of t-shirts on sale at www.disneyshopping.com for only $4.99, if anyone needs anymore shirts for the trip!!
I don't NEED any, but shoot, at that price, who can resist! I'm going to check it out. :thumbsup2

Oh come on, you know you want to..... Why fight it?

Steph~ We weren't affected by the fireworks accident. In fact I didn't even know it happened until my dad called the next day to see if we were alright :confused3 . I think it happened around the perimeter of the stadium and we were pretty close to the ring. I don't watch or like wrestling, but I actually really enjoyed it and the excitement in the crowd made it fun!!!

Glad to hear you and your kids are safe and that you had a nice time.

I already bought a bunch for $5 bucks.

let's see I have:

- minnie mouse
- cruella De Vil
- Eeyore
- Pongo (but I might return it)

MamaKate--welcome back! I'm looking forward to meeting you and everyone else in person and hearing more about your trip!

Ok, so I have good news . . . . that goes along with not so good news.

I went to the UCLA Medical Center with my Mom today and her surgery will not be until May 7th (so :yay: won't be an issue with the Ladies only trip!)

The bad news is what May 7th will entail--she's looking at a 10-12 hour surgery to remove skin cancer from her face, neck and also some lymph nodes and also her cheekbone as well as maybe part of the jaw. They are going to take skin and fat from her thigh to reconstruct her face.

So, my rule for the day is SUNSCREEN SUNSCREEN SUNSCREEN! and HATS HATS HATS!

We just don't know what sun exposure today will do to us in the future. Stay safe.

Well, I'm glad to hear the surgery won't interfere with the trip.

But OMG, poor thing having to go through that. I'm sure you're both very nervous about it. I hope it goes smoothly.

And it's interesting you posted that. Just today I was thinking how ghostly pale I looked and decided I would sit outside in the sun for 15-20 minutes each day until I had some color.

Maybe that's not such a good idea. Better to be pale and healthy I guess.

I am already nervous of all the tanning salons I used to frequent back in high school when I was skinny and it was cool to be super tanned for beach/bikini season.

Actually, we were talking with my paralegal when we got back about all the times we laid out in the sun--including lemon juice on our hair and baby oil on our bodies--not realizing what damage we were potentially doing to our skin. My Mom did this when she was a teenager too--so it's not just more recent generations. She also fished and gardened a lot and never used sunscreen.
My paralegal has also done a lot of tanning salons . . and I'm worried for her too.

So yes--pale and healthy is the way to go! :grouphug:

Oh yes, I totally did the baby oil on my skin as well.
And I used to use this tanning accelerator when I went to the salons. I went every day, for 30 minutes, which back then was supposed to be the equivelent to laying out in the sun for 2 hours!

It's hard because tan skin looks better and healthier even though I know it's really not. And I know better too. I just gave in to wanting to be tan. Ok, no more sitting outside! Thanks again for reminding me it's just not worth it.

Yep--somehow I think it makes me look thinner (a hard job, that!) and healthier . . . . but not true.
