Disneyland Girls Only Trip thread

I noticed that AP holders can get a discounted pass for parking. I was wondering if this is true if any of you who will be at the HOJO and do not need to use it would be willing to pass the savings on? Thanks for any info anyone can provide.

AP parking is attatched to the AP's only. (There is a big black P on the back of the annual pass). Since AP's have your picture on it, they cannot be shared. The only way to use this feature is to have the AP holder in the car with you when you go to park.

First of all....it's getting close, so I want to reiterate my offer to make shopping trips for anyone who needs one. I'll be driving up in my van from the San Diego area, so it won't be any trouble. Beth won't be there , so I'm not sure how important the Diet Pepsi is any longer , but I'm happy to do what I can for cereal or bagels, snacks, drinks, etc.


Second...about the Ladies Only trip to Vegas. Personally, I'd like to do that just anytime....ie. whenever some of the ladies are interested in heading out there, I'd be in! As for it "replacing" a Disney Ladies Only Trip next year.....I'm not to keen on that idea.

Third.....going to DL with a 13 year old boy is a VERY different experience from going with a 6 y.o. girl. Went last night. DS pooped out early and we went on very different rides. Not as magical to him. Though he did say "I'm so glad we did this." And he was happy to not have to "stop every 5 minutes" for his sister. He really enjoyed the Challenge area at DCA. We had never seen it before.

Fourth....we are going to Narnia at the El Capitan on June 1 and wander around Hollywood. If you haven't experienced the El Capitan before, you might want to check it out. Little Mermaid is there the middle of this month through the middle of next month.

Since I live locally and will be driving over to meet up with everyone daily, maybe I can help with a few things? I'd be happy to help with shopping trips, either picking up some needed items, or driving someone to Target? I also have my premium AP, with parking, so if anyone wants me to pick them up on my way- anywhere between Huntington Beach and Anaheim- (although I just have a small car, so I couldn't fit more than 4 people), it might save someone paying for parking? I'm not going to be with everyone the *entire* time, but will at least be around Thursday night, all day Friday, most of the day Saturday, and maybe Sunday too? Let me know what I can help YOU with!

As for the Girls Only to Vegas, I agree we should just stick with Disney. Not everyone is a fan of Vegas, and not everyone's DH will let them sneak away to such a party town without them since a lot of husbands like it here too!

If anyone wants to try and organize a separate side trip out here, then I'm all for it and will help however I can. Heck, I'm always here, so if anyone is in the area, let me know and we can try to get together.

I still think that while you all are on this trip it would be a good time to start tossing around dates for next years trip. At least a general time frame.
That is, if any of you are wanting to do this again. It seemed like many of you were but I guess we'll see how this goes.

I think it would be fun to make it an annual event.

Oh your welcome! It's really a fun way to see the snapshots everyone else got. So I really hope that after the trip everyone will share what pics they've taken.

I HATE having my pic taken so that's why most of them are of my kids.
I did try to stick some pics of me in there to prove I am a real person since no one will get to see me this trip.

I'm not sure how tall my DD is. She's 11 and is already taller then her older brother who is 13. Needless to say he is not happy with that at all!!
I don't think I'll have to worry about her too much. She's a total tomboy and hates anything girly like make-up or dressing up. And she hates having her picture taken. She always blinks!

I agree about the Ladies Only trip to Vegas. I am up for both but definitely think we should keep the Disney trip an annual thing.

As for the grocery stuff, I'm not sure about everyone else but I'm thinking about water. Since being on WWs I'm drink quite a bit of it and with it being expensive in the parks it'll probably be a benefit to purchase cases of water outside the park for all. What do you guys think?

I was actually thinking of bringing some breakfast things as well. I'm going to stop by Wal-mart before I head out so I can buy some poptarts, bagels and I'll definitely need some coffee but they have that in the room.

Yeah, I don't know if I'd like going to Vegas instead of DL. In addition would actually be fun but I'm not 21 so I wouldn't go.

Anyone else starting to feel a time crunch?

I know I don't have a family to contend with organizing before I leave. And as for work, I'm a file clerk. Nothing I can do ahead of time there. But geesh, I have a ton of other stuff I keep putting off. I'm such a procrastinator. I LIVE to do it all at the last minute. The Saturday-Wednesday before our trip I'll be going crazy. But I like it that way.

The only time I don't do this, is when I leave for a trip. I'm ready early, get to the airport early and I am at the gate to the plane early.

I think I need my head examined.

1] When are you arriving & Leaving? (Both date & Time frame)

2] What is the first thing you're going to do when you arrive?

3] Will you be meeting up for meals? Which ones?

4] Will you be staying at the parks til they kick you out & busting the gates open in the morning?

5] Are you participating in the any tours?

I'll go first because I really want to know who I might bump into first.

1] I will be arriving Thursday around 3pm and leaving Friday evening around 7pm

2] The first thing I want to do is find out where the hotel is and maybe get a key. Then I'm heading over to DCA to ride Soarin'!

3] I will be meeting up for dinner at Jazz Kitchen on 4/24 and Lunch at the Blue Bayou 4/25

4] I know I'll probably go back to the hotel after dinner because I'll be exhausted from school (Starting at 8am!?!), shower and watch some TV to wind down. Friday morning I'll be at DL at 7am (they open at 8am) so I can ride Peter Pan, Dumbo, and Space Mountain this visit before lunch.

5] I'm participating in the VIP tour on Friday (2p-6p)

(If this was Orlando I would be able to tell you for sure. lol) Leaving Monday on a red-eye, pickup is around 6pm.

Check in and ditch the luggage! If Dagny and Lauren aren't too far behind Ruth and I...we'll wait for them. Otherwise, I'll be hoofing it to the parks with a stop at McD's for some food. I have to get my ticket used before the parks close that day because I'm getting the buy a 5day pay for a 3day ticket.

3] Will you be meeting up for meals? Which ones?
So far I am just doing the Blue Bayou. I am thinking of trying to catch up at the UVA Bar if I remember..the draw of the park and all. Make sure you guys are still over there after 10pm and I'll be sure to remember then. rofl If I see any of you guys at counter meals I am more than happy to have an impromptu meal meet!

Definitely!!! I probably won't sleep good the night before either and my plane leaves at 6:25am!!!

1. Leaving Phoenix at 6:25am on Friday, supposed to arrive at 7:40am into Orange County airport so I'm thinking we should be at the hotel by 9am (hoping!!!). Plane leaves on Monday at 1:20pm so probably leaving Hojo at around 11:30, depending on when the Supershuttle arrives.

2. Get my room key, drop off my stuff in my room, and head over to DL to pick up Fastpasses!!

3. Yup! Blue Bayou, Goofy's Kitchen, Carnation Cafe ... am I forgetting anything?

4. Depends on how well I sleep, but at least I don't have to drive so I'll try!!!

5. VIP tour

Guess what!!! I have to make an "emergency" trip to Disneyland tomorrow!!! My daughter is coming home for the week (she doesn't have classes Wed-Fri) and she had a ride but it fell through. Well, she has a new boyfriend here and really, REALLY wants to come home so I'm driving out tomorrow and we're going to DL after her last class, which ends at 5:30. The park closes at 10, so I don't know how much we'll get to do, but I'll be there!!! Then driving home on Tuesday. AP's are GREAT!!!

I'm the rebel bringing my family. It just so happened our family trip coincides with this event, and many of my hyena friends are attending as well. Therefore I'm more of an honorary Ladies Only member, though I do hope to bump into many of you I haven't met! I did order the brown Ladies Only t-shirt, but will probably have to wear it on the wrong day. I'll also be wearing a LGMHPC with my DIS name on our backpack, and there'll be one on our stroller as well. (Don't be put off by the dark moustache; DH often wears the backpack.) Please say 'hi'!

We arrive sometime in the early afternoon on the 25th, and leave in the afternoon on May 3rd.

2. What is the first thing you're going to do when you arrive?
We will need to grab lunch, some groceries, and get DS3 down for nap. We'll probably not make it to the park until late afternoon.

We don't really have a thing we do first thing every trip. We're more of a last thing kind of family. We always ride Pirates last before heading home. Oh, and we usually have a special breakfast the morning of our trip home, either room service Mickey Waffles, or last time DS3 and I went to the Lilo & Stitch breakfast.

3. Will you be meeting up for meals? Which ones?
Since we have the kids along, we won't be meeting up for any of the Ladies Only group outings.

I would have loved to do a tour or some other group event, but the timings just didn't work out. It sounds like you'll have a blast!

Funny you should ask. I never know what to expect anymore! Getting DH (and DS7) out of bed in the morning requires a crowbar and plenty of coffee. He wakes early on workdays, so to him a vacation means sleeping in.

But we do try to make at least one EE day during our stay. And to my surprise, we quite frequently have stayed until closing. Very unusual for DH and my boys to be up that late, it must be Disney Magic!


5. Are you participating in any tours?
Sadly, no. They sound awesome, though, and several of my friends are going on them. I hope to relive them vicariously!
