Disneyland Girls Only Trip thread

Hi Lesley--it was so fun to meet you and the other gals too! I can't believe you wore those feather boas all day in that heat! (Ladies, I hope it cools off in time for the Ladies' Only trip--it was HOT) Lesley--you guys were hard to miss (LOL).

I don't think we did very well--we spent WAY too much time on the Island trying to solve that quest (almost half of the allotted time). The quests that we actually did solve went very well . . . . we never did get to several of them including the chemistry (ugh) one. Next time we will have a different strategy if we can get one of our group to FOCUS. He had us go ride Peter Pan trying to find the answer to the island quest (which I knew was wrong but oh well). Luckily (I guess) we were working with another study group on that quest (which was allowed) and they found the answer (we think).

How did your group do? P.s. I pm'd you too.

What is this Quest thing you guys are talking about?

I think I saw your team yesterday?? Were you all wearing your green boas??

When we were in line for Haunted Mansion around 11:30am I saw 4 ladies wearing green boas. I would've loved to meet you but I never saw the green boas again :guilty: .

That was us! I am sorry that we missed meeting you Katie.

We always have guests come up to us or make comments about our costume. My favorite yesterday was, "I didn't know it was Boa Sunday?!?"

And we were so visible that the maid of honor from my wedding (1987) yelled out to me. I haven't seen her in almost 3 years, so that was a surprise.

Oh my goodness, I just realized I'll be going to DL or DCA 6 times in the very near future.

DL maybe this week!, 2 days with you wonderful ladies, DCA in May, DL in May, DL in June!

1] When are you arriving & Leaving? (Both date & Time frame)

Clients permitting, I am hoping to arrive around 3 p.m. on Thursday. My office is only 15 minutes away, so it will really be dependent on getting off of the phone! I am planning to leave Sunday--not sure what time--will depend on what things are left undone when I leave the office on Thursday and whether I need to go in and catch up :sad2:

2] What is the first thing you're going to do when you arrive? Check in to HOJO and then probably head over to DL, pick up a couple of fastpasses and then the Jazz Kitchen!

3] Will you be meeting up for meals? Which ones?

Jazz Kitchen, Blue Bayou and Goofy's Kitchen

4] Will you be staying at the parks til they kick you out & busting the gates open in the morning?

Probably a combination of both! Depends on the weather (please God--don't let it be as hot as it was yesterday or as cold as it was two weeks ago--we want it "just right") and what everyone else is doing. (I tend to go with the crowd's wishes) Also depends on what evening activities we may be participating in as part of the VIP Tour!

5] Are you participating in the any tours? Yes--the VIP tour. I would like to do the Segway tour but don't think my knees would take it . . . .
:dance3:

Popping in again from my Colorado road trip! Now I'm in my hometown of Durango staying with my mom for a couple days.

I read in her paper that it was 102 degrees in Anaheim on Sunday! OMG, you poor people doing MouseAdventure! I would have given up and headed straight for the Tiki Room with a whip.

Anyway, just wanted to say hi, and I'm still traveling, and not able to really keep up with the Dis happenings. . . I'll be back home late Wed night.

Getting excited for DLR and praying that the temps go back down. . . WAAAAAY down.

DBF went to visit his sister in Durango, well I think she actually lives in Bayfield, a few weeks ago and he said he opened his sister back door and the snow was higher than his waist!

Yep, we passed through Bayfield on the way here. Believe it or not, it's 72 degrees here today. No snow on the ground and just gorgeous. Springtime in Colorado is so unpredictable. :goodvibes

97 DEGREES!!!???!!!

That's even hot for me. I might even spring for one of the Disney Water Mister Fans in heat like that. EEEK!

Note to self: Summer clothes might be needed, battery operated or folding fan, and LOTS of water. (I only drink water at Disney if it is hot like that, otherwise I drink Coke. So if you see me with water....IT'S HOT people.)

LOL Shelley!!
Don't get too excited....its pretty unusual to be THAT hot this time of year, especially for very long. Check the weather a day or 2 before, it could be freezing by then (oh and for us So. Californians, freezing is less then 60!!) LOL

Yes, your group was very visual  . You caught my eye all the way at the entrance door to the Haunted Mansion. When we got off the ride I tried to scan the crowds looking for you, but I didn't see your group again and we had to go to DCA to watch Cat Cora. But I wanted to find you again so I could at least say a quick Hi .

This is exactly what we did!! We had only been at DL for 1/2 hour and we already had enough. We each grabbed a Dole Whip and went into the Tiki Room for some air.

I packed 3 waters & 3 Crystal Lites to bring to DL. That usually last us all day. We drank everything within an hour and I ended up buying so many drinks throughout the day. It was so hot we didn't even eat (except for the samples at the cooking demos). All we bought all day were dole whips, mickey ice creams, waters and juice.

Oh Katie, I'm sorry we missed you! That was us in our black DIVA bling shirts and our green boas. It was so funny when Tink33's friend recognized her - and they hadn't even seen each other for 3 years or so. We just seemed to catch people's eye.:rotfl2:

If you had wanted to catch up with us again, you could have followed the feathers ... it seems that those boas 'molt' a bit. We were leaving a trail of lovely lime green feathers all over Disneyland. :rolleyes1

I had such a great time, in spite of the heat. I have to tell you that Lesley, and Mary Jo and Kelly are the most fun to be around. They are all so creative and fun. I'm really thrilled to be on their team. I think we did a little better in the heat this time than we have in the past. It helped that we knew how much Mouse Adventure took out of us anyway - so we had a good breakfast at Lilo and Stitch before we started. Then, Lesley, our leader, gave us each a huge COLD bottle of water :worship: . And we continued to drink througout the day. To be honest, we didn't notice the crowds, or much else .. we were in puzzle solving mode and had a very narrow focus. But, it was a fun, fun day.

Here's hoping for cooler weather for the girls trip.

It was really hot yesterday so we ended up heading over to DCA and doing some of the culinary demos. My son loves the Iron Chef on Food Network so we waited in line for an hour to watch Cat Cora's demo and then we got to meet her afterwards. She is a VERY nice person. As soon as I can find my digital camera's USB cord, I'll upload the photos on Shutterfly (along with my WDW vacation photos ).

I also lost my son a DL yesterday :scared1: . We have been going to DL since my son was 1 and I have never lost any of my children  . However yesterday when we were on our way down main street we stopped in a store while the parade was going on & we got seperated. My DD and I looked for him for 1/2 hour and we couldn't find him so I went to City Hall to see if he was at the child's lost and found. NOPE. I knew he wouldn't tell anyone he was lost since he is he's 12 1/2 and too cool to be lost. I felt a little stupid going in and saying I lost my 12 year old son, but they were very helpful and put out a APB to all the stores, rides, parking lot,...etc. Then they had a security member walk around with to see if we could find him. Within 5 minutes he was found  . He was at the turnstiles trying to get back in, but I had his AP. They held him there until we got there. He said he was looking for change so he could call my cell phone  .

Wow, Katie, how scary. I would have been freaking out, 12 or not! I'm glad he was found quickly, safe and sound.

Hello ladies!!

Just stopping in to say hi. I hope all of you in the heat stay cool! It's hot here too. Hopefully it will cool down before the trip.

Glad those of you who were there recently had fun. :thumbsup2

I just remember that someone posted 97 and i went with it. Does it really matter it was hotter? 97 is bad enough. 102 is just ridiculous. I'd be shopping to stay cool.

I am nto sure if I missed it or not but I wondering how we are getting our lanyards and t shirts?

Capri and Callie will be bringing the shirts and lanyards with them and passing them out when they get there.

If you need to make other arrangements you can PM them about it. :)
