I went to DL on Saturday and stopped by the Blue Ribbon Bakery on Main Street. My girlfriend wanted a Really Big Cinnamon Roll, and I wanted to get a strawberry shortcake. Got in line and I didn't see the strawberry shortcake behind the glass, so I figured maybe they didn't put them out yet. When it was our turn, I asked about it, and the CM told us that they don't have it anymore, and its last day was the previous Wednesday.
The CM said that Disneyland was trying to be more healthy, so they decided to get rid of it. She also said that the manager of Blue Ribbon Bakery decided to get rid of the 5-layer cake. What puzzled us was that they still serve cheesecake. I'm not health expert, but that doesn't seem less healthy compared to the shortcake. The CM even pointed out that they used fresh strawberries for the shortcake.
Anyway, I decided to head over to City Hall to file a (for lack of better term) complaint. The CM over there gave me a slip with an address to write to. I understand that DL wants to get healthier, but I don't understand this move. I'm sure most of the people that purchase stuff at DL are adults, and adults can decide for themselves what they should or shouldn't eat. Bah, I'm probably just bitter because I was really looking forward to getting that strawberry shortcake, but I think I'm actually going to write them a letter.
On a lighter note, the Really Big Cinnamon Roll was delicious.
