Other then the MEGA-crowds, which we expect, what can I expect at Disneyland on New Years Eve?

Who has been and is willing to share their experinces?

Hi
My hubby and I go to Disneyland every year for New Years. It's sort of our little tradition.

Yes it's VERY crowded. But I just don't care. I love it.
Personally, we just don't plan anything fo the actual day of New Years Eve. We go and stake out our spot in front of the castle early in the day and just sit....and wait.....forever. It sounds worse than it is. We have met up with the same folks every year for the last several years. About 11:30 we start blowing up huge beach balls and start launching them into the crowd

Heres a few pics of last years festivites:

Here's one ofme throwing out the first ball :teeth:

Here is one with a bunch of them being batted around.

heres a shot I loved of the smiley faces that they have in the fireworks show. They have the best fireworks for New Years IMHO

and finally, a nice shot of the castle

Its SO much fun. I don't think I would live if we didn't go.

The park is open till around 3 ish, and there is just an air of magical festivity all around.

It's our favorite time to go, nightmare crowds and all. It's like a big party with 80,000 of your best friends!

Knowing we were moving we did DL over the NY holiday, opted to spend the evening at the DCA. We
had a ball, the crowds were smaller and the CMs were lots of fun. We just figured that fighting the crowds at DL wouldn't be worth it and instead had a fun family evening at DCA.
