High point ~ Exercising when I really, really, really, did not want to this morning and not stopping when the running seemed too hard.
Low point ~ Going grocery shopping while I was hungry!! Which resulted in buying a bunch of "stuff" that isn't very healthy and now I am going to have to deal with that being in the house and resisting that temptation.
Night!
Great job on the running!! A little soreness is good.

Reminds us that we have muscles. You have a recovery day today, right? Let those muscles heal so you can strengthen up again tomorrow!
And NO, never go to the store hungry.

Yesterday, I bought my son some hob nob cookies and gave him one in the car and they were taunting me all the way home. DS and I were having fun pretending to be the cookies while we were driving home. "Jen, eat me! I will make you so happy. I'm SO delicious." For the record, I didn't have one. Had sugar free jello for desert. Not quite the same, but worked.
Some good remedies for soreness - epsom salt baths! And be sure to move tomorrow, (gently at first).
I totally know what you mean by not being the athletic type when young... I never had any brothers... But it is never too late! Don't forget, dancing is exercise too!
I second the epsom salt baths.

And I don't use any fancy schmancy ones, just the milk carton sized ones that you can get at the grocery or drug store. And I put a little bubble bath with it. I ran out of mine earlier this week. Must get more soon. My knee, upper leg hurts from yesterday's hills.
And I'm going to have to chime in for being another non athletic type when young. I hope PE teachers these days do a little more to encourage young ladies who are not hard core athletes to exercise -- there are so many FUN things to do that we just did NOT do in PE when I was in school.
Since I first started posting in here (3 weeks ago??) I've lost 4 lbs!!!!! So its a move in the right direction...I'm hoping with the weather getting nice, going outside & moving around will kick-start the exercising thing!!
Great job to all you ladies & continued success!!! Thanx for being a great support group.
YEAH!!! Congratulation!!!

Can I ask how the quitting smoking is going? So important. Needs to stay at very top of priority list. For you and your family both.
EDIT: just reread your post.
Congrats on getting your smoking down to half!!! And good luck getting that to
ZERO asap!!!
Can I weigh in today?

This morning those daily weight fluctuations seemed to work in my favor. (or my scale is broken). I'm down 2 lbs. I want to lock it in now in case I go up tomorrow.
And for a running QUOTE OF THE DAY
Running should be a lifelong activity. Approach it patiently and intelligently, and it will reward you for a long, long time.
