Disneyland Divas working out, getting healthy, and looking fine in '09!!

Yeah ladies!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:
Keep moving!!

I have done well with exercising so far this week. Did pilates Monday (stomach muscles still hurt!), running and weights Tuesday, short walk with dog yesterday and today I'm supposed to run and do weights. May end up doing weights tomorrow.

Eating, well, I'm hungry this week. :sad2: I haven't been journaling, but I've been trying to be good, but I'm not feeling to optimistic about weigh in.

So, for the QUOTE OF THE DAY:
It is not the great temptations that ruin us; it is the little ones.
John W. DeForest

Great work ladies!!!!!!
:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
No matter what the scales say tomorrow, it sounds like everyone is really giving it their all and in the end, that's all that matters. Keep at it!! It will work. We will be healthy. We will lose weight! We will feel fantastic!!! :yay: :yay:

Good luck tomorrow everyone!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

After talking with my parents, expressing my concerns about the 5k in November, I've decided not to participate in the event.

After running outside the past two weeks, my knees have hurt severely. I'm afraid that if I do participate I will injure myself and set myself back several months or injure myself for life. The fact is it is unsafe for me to run, at this weight, on hard concrete. I've seen first hand what running on pavement can do and I do NOT want to regret it later in life. My knees have bothered me since I was in 6th grade! I fear it is something I will need surgery for later in life.

If I were 75lbs lighter, it would be a different story. But I'm not, so it is what it is. Four weeks isn't sufficient time for me to train for this 5k. I will continue the C25k program but just incorporate it into a 45 minute to 1 hour workout session.

I WILL continue to run but it will be under a controlled environment on the softer surface of a treadmill.

My goal is to be 100lbs lighter and fit for the 2009 marathon.

Good choice... If it hurts more than you feel is worth it or safe its a good idea to stop... Just keep doing what you feel is right and you will succeed! :cheer2:

Hi ladies!! I hope everyone saw some good numbers today, but no matter what, keep at it. It works if you work it! OK, that's AA but whatever. It's true!! :rotfl:

Cristabel - I think you made a wise choice. You have to listen to what your body is telling you, kwim? You'll get there.

OK, so I am down this week!! From 224 to 221.5 which brings my total weight loss to 41.6 pounds!!! So I can officially get my DIS 40 pound banner. :yay: :yay:

Cristabel--I'm so sorry your knees are bothering you. :grouphug: You are doing the right thing listening to your body. You have to. And you need to adjust when it tells you to. You will get there!!

Good luck finding a good exercise for you. I don't know if you have access to a pool, but aqua aerobics and exercise in the water is an excellent low impact way to get in shape. Swimming absolutely saved me for both my pregnanies. And if you don't like laps, you can just walk through the water.

You're doing so great!! Keep up the great work! And let those knees heal. You need them your whole life. :)

So for me...well my weight is the same. I think I've plateaued. :upsidedow I feel real good about my exercise though:
-7 miles running on Sunday
-Pilates Monday
-4 miles running and 45 minutes weights on Tuesday
-Dog walk Wednesday
-4 miles running on Thursday

And exercise is my primary goal here (though wouldn't mind seeing the scale go down a bit ;) )

Hope everyone else is doing well!

And for the QUOTE OF THE DAY:
Every time we fall down and we get up, we are one step closer to success. Even failures make us move forward so don't be afraid of failures.

Hi all,
Well... I am up .4 from last Friday but down sort of... LOL... I gained over the weekend from my bad eating but I've lost all but .4 of it... So thats a plus... did a bit of meal planning so this weekend should be better...

Grats to those that lost and Keep moving forward to those who didn't... We will all get to our goals eventually but can't if we stop trying... :) :cheer2: :cheer2:

I agree, if you were to keep trying to train, but then get injured then you would have to stop exercising all together.

Have you ever tried the eliptical machine? I used to do the treadmill, but switched because I kept tripping on the dang machine. Not having to actually lift my foot up off the surface has made it much easier for me to keep going (it was always embarrasing to stub my shoes on the machine). I was always afraid I'd fall flat on my face in front of everyone.:scared1:

I kept my goal of tracking all week! Drank a river of water and went to the gym twice. I'm going to weigh in tomorrow to see if it did any good. Of course it is that TOM so I won't be surprised if there is no loss.

I am down 2 this week...I am very upset about a sweatshirt right now. Must go pout elsewhere!

Sarah:sad1:

Ok, so I think the reason I am so upset about the sweatshirt is that I finally felt that I was looking thinner today and it was the first time I wore the sweatshirt so I believe I am tying the good feeling of looking better to the sweatshirt and now that it is ruined I am feeling like maybe I don't just look good on my own and am realizing how quickly looking good can end. ( I wore a new sweatshirt of my dh's and got bleach on it completely ruining it!)

Yes, I have done the elliptical numerous times. I switched to the treadmill because it challenges me more.

Oh, Sarah  Don't tie yourself to that sweater! Before you know it, it will be too big for you:goodvibes

Ugh, I have done the same thing to some of my favorite clothes, it is REALLY frustrating.

Sending you happy thoughts and well wishes!:wizard:

Congrats on the 2 lbs! AWESOME!!! :yay:  :worship: :cool1: :thumbsup2 :woohoo:

And bummer on the sweatshirt :headache:
I say you deserve a new one!

I'm a happy camper right now. No, I haven't lost any weight for at least a couple of weeks but I did complete a TWO HOUR RUN today and made it NINE MILES!! When I started this last April I couldn't run 15 minutes, so it's kind of unbelieveable. Sorry for "tooting my own horn" (as my grandma used to say) but I was nervous going out this morning and didn't know if I could do it, and I did it. Woohoo!! :woohoo: :woohoo: I'm so grateful for the progress that I have made. And thank you ladies for being a motivational community for me! Plus, I got to listen to like four Oprah soul series podcasts, plus that anniversary DISboard podcast show from a year or so ago. So I feel I have a much healthier body and spirit from my morning :rotfl:

So now for a QUOTE OF THE WEEKEND:
The whole point of being alive is to evolve into the complete person you were intended to be.

Happy weekend everyone!
I think I'll go eat an ice cream sundae to celebrate!
just kidding...just kidding...but maybe just some little treat?;)

Toot away! You deserve it!! I'm in awe of both you and Cristabel running. Like I said I trip over my own feet so I've never gotten up to running.

Sarah - sorry to hear about the sweatshirt incident. Is there anyway to save it (maybe make it a workout sweatshirt). I've ruined more close doing laundry than I care to think about. (Ok, after reading what I just wrote, I realize how much of a clutz I really am). :confused3

I weighed in this morning and was down 1.4!!! I'm so excited :yay: (going to toot my horn as well). I kept to tracking this week and did the gym three times (including today). DH mentioned twice in the last week how much smaller I look! I was cleaning up some old emails and found a picture from 2004 and I was AMAZED at how much I've changed. I'll try and see if I can figure out how to do pictures and put up some before and now shots.

I also want to thank everyone for their support. I really think my extra motivation comes from having the support of everyone here. Knowing that I'm not the only one that has ups and downs and being able to share them and know that I won't be judged.

Now I have a W.I.S.H. board question. With today's weight loss I hit my 50lb loss with WW. I don't remember what I weighted when I joined the boards (but could figure it out from my records). Which weight do I use for the WISH ribbons? I'd love to put up a 50, but since I didn't lose it all here, don't want to commit a faux pax.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

P.S. Cristabel - have you started at TDS yet?

I just noticed that not only did I hit 50lbs total weight, but I've just hit 50 posts!

We are going to my ex-sister in laws house for dinner tonight. Hopefully there will be healthy choices. I ate an apple and granola bar so I won't be starving.

Sarah, I'm sorry about the sweatshirt but before long you are going to see that you will look HOT in whatever you put on.

Jane, get the 50 lb banner!!! You deserve it.

All of you doing your running and working out are doing so GREAT! I am so happy for you and yet so jealous too. LOL ;)

Ugh, bad day here. Bad, bad, bad day. I ate more today then I have in weeks!!! Just totally pigged out. Not sure why. Guess I was just rebelling against all the calorie counting, food measuring, etc. :confused3
Anyway, it's over. Tomorrow is a new day!!!!

I leave for Disney in about two weeks or so, and I want to lose another 4 lbs before then. So no more bad days like today for me!!!

Hope you are all having a good weekend!!!! :cool1:

Hi everyone!
I just finished showering after completing a 12 hour shift and I'm so tired!:cloud9: I weighed myself this morning at 6:30am. Yeah, I worked 7a - 7pm, suckiest shift everrrrr! But it's big money so it's all good.

Anyway, I lost the 1lb I gained last week! :woohoo:

I have eaten horribly today!

Breakfast - bread and chicken nuggets from the deli
This was around 9:30am! Horrible!!!!

Snack - donut :scared1:
the choices just keep getting worse

lunch : In-N-Out! :sad2:

Dinner: Carnitas, beans and some rice. THAT was the healthiest thing I ate all day.

But to tell you the truth, I don't feel gross. I drank SOOOO much water. I was working outside the entire time and it was H O T!
I think I drank about 10 - 12 cups of water.

But tomorrow will be a better day. I'll eat breakfast at home and make wiser lunch and dinner choices.

Monday I start the Fat flush. I have lost 10 lbs in 2 weeks doing that diet, it's great!
