Hello,
I have a question on the Deluxe AP question blocked dates.
If we want to go there during one of the blocked days will we have to purchase a single day ticket?
Thanks!

Thanks a bunch!
Also, can we upgrade to the Premier pass once we purchase the Deluxe version?
If we decide it makes more sense after we used it a couple of days?

Or will we be stuck with it.

You can upgrade, it's not prorated.

(As long as you paid for the AP, there are some that people win through radio contests that can't be upgraded.)

This is not correct. You do NOT need to buy a single day ticket to go on a blocked day. You need to buy a blockout ticket. Figment_jii provided you correct pricing info about the blockout ticket.

Keep in mind, if you buy a certain number of blockout tickets, you reach a point where you would have been better off just upgrading. Also, remember if you upgrade from a Deluxe to a premium or premier, parking is covered in the cost of your pass so you save that money too (if you drive to the parks).

Kind of...you will need to purchase a blockout ticket (it's a single day, park hopper ticket). It's currently $84 and must be purchased at the Main Entrance ticket booths.

Thank you!.
Really appreciate your help.

The block out ticket is good for a single day? Correct?

The block out ticket is good for a single day? Correct?

Yes, the block out ticket is only good for a single day (and I think it might only be good on the day of purchase, but that I'm less sure about). It is a park hopper, so that's nice (and a pretty good savings from the standard 1-day/2-park ticket).

If you use today's prices, it costs $170 to upgrade from the Deluxe to the Premium. So it slightly more than 2 block out tickets ($168). In the end, I think with parking included and the slightly higher discounts on food and merchandise, if you have to buy two block out tickets, you might as well upgrade the Deluxe.

No, you buy a block out pass, not a full priced ticket. You buy this at the ticket booth and it is only good the day of purchase so you can't buy it Friday night to use on Saturday.

Thanks a bunch!

Do you mean the Premium? The Premier is the pass that works at both DLR and WDW. Yes, you can upgrade your Deluxe to a Premium, you have to pay the full upgrade cost at the time of upgrade.

Yes, IME it is good only the day of purchase.

All of this. :) The block out pass is a park hopper so you have full privileges, your AP will still work for discounts as well. And I agree that if you are considering buying 2 block out passes you should just get the Premium AP, the free parking alone is a great perk, plus better discounts and every day admission.

The Premier pass is a Premium pass for both DLR & WDW and is a few hundred $ more than the DLR Premium . If you are not planning on going to WDW, stick with the DLR Premium. ;)

Deluxe Pass - $499.00
Premium Pass - $669.00
Premier Passports are $979

Oops
You're right!
I get those 2 mixed up all the time.

Right, but a single day ticket and a blockout ticket are two different purchases. The OP asked if she needed a single day ticket, which you replied "Yes" to. Figment Jii and Dreams were just pointing out that the OP actually should purchase a blockout ticket, not a single day ticket...again two different products with different costs associated.
