Ewe, Pepsi is tolerable, but when comparing Diet Pepsi to Diet Coke...Diet Pepsi tastes like flat, watered down Diet Coke. But, I guess that's why both companies are successful...they both have their own fans, as everyone has different tastes.
I agree that the quality of the water probably plays into it.
I also believe that there are standards for cleaning the lines that deliver the water and syrup. I have heard that many places disregard these and that bacteria and minerals build up in the lines, possibly effecting the flavor.
This is an old thread but skiingfast is actually referring to the Coke Freestyle machine that they had at the DLR F&W festival that year. It doesn't make the different cokes from around the world but lets you pick from different flavors of each drink. ...
I assume you mean more expensive? With the recent price like, a regular size coke is about $6 with tax. Of course, everybody knows the best fountain Coke is at McD’s .

I said that it was greater in terms of taste, not cost. Just a lot more reason to skip Coke when I'm outside of Disney... just isn't as magical drinking this type of drink back home.
