We will be going to DL for the first time with our CM daughter in late january 2025 and even though the park reservations are only available up to Jan 9 there is not one day from now until that day in January. However self admit is available everyday. We have flights and room reservations all paid for already and even though the dates for our stay are not yet available I am getting a little nervous about actually getting in the parks. Anyone out there know how the reservations come about for main entrance passes? Is there no availability because of the time of year right now and that there is some kind of run disney event in early January? Alot of questions I know but this will be a very boring and or expensive trip without park admission. Thanks for any and all help

We are going the first week of February. Usually the days open up the night before. We went last December and got a few days. The rest I had to use our comp tickets for the guests. Hopefully the days will open up. Just keep checking.

Their park reservations seem to roll forward one day at a time, I believe 60 days in advance? I usually jump on them right away for my DL trips, each day. I sometimes get tripped up by the limit of 3 days at a time, for MEP. (CM can book 3 days MEP, plus 3 days self-admit at one time). I usually book MEP at start, and then 3 self admit, on 6 day trips. Then I switch the self admits to MEP if I can, as I use up one of the 3. Using comps as my back up plan, using the resort guest bucket of park reservations. But, that is a bit nerve wracking. My next trip is short, just 3 days in park.

I am going the last week of February so we are in this together!

Pat, I am staying at DL hotel in January. Since I have a hotel reservation, can I get all my reservations for all my days? I have two familiy members with me using my MEP so I wont be able to self admit at all. My stay is for 6 days. Thank you

No. You can only grab 3 MEP park reservations at one time. So, prioritize any days that you think will be hard, like Saturday Sunday or a holiday. But I also try to book the first 2-3 days, because as you use them, you can add another. I sometimes book first 3 MEP, second 3 self admit and if I have them, book others on comps.. Then I switch the self admits to MEPs as the days go by and save those comps.

It is a bit of a crap shoot TBH. It is a shame we cannot get around the 3 day MEP limit, like we can at WDW IF we are staying on property.

Hope you got your reservations. We were able to book Disneyland on our first full day there and will check tomorrow for the second day. We need a total of 4 days. I know we can only book 3 days in advance even though we are staying longer. We booked 1 night in the DVC room (but keeping our concierge room for me) so that we can do Moonlight magic at DCA on the 3rd. Now we just have to get a reservation for Moonlight Magic. Have fun.
