Mickeystoontown's Cheers to 40 years! 18 days, 10 park days, 2 parties and a lot of fun! Updated 4/24

Glad you aren't you know getting dead. I've had that happen and it's crazy scary, glad John was there. It's been years and years since we've been to Le Cellier, we may have to go again soon.

I'm so glad you are ok and that your husband knew the heimlich. So many people don't know that any more. And what a lovely meal. I haven't done Le Cellier. Maybe someday.
He had just taken an online safety course that was required for his work and I am so thankful that he did!

Me too! We used to joke with our kids and tell them "don't get dead" whenever they'd go somewhere and it has stuck.

LeCellier is so good! You really should try it again.

I just downloaded the next bunch of pictures and will get to organizing them so that I can post another trip update. Should be this afternoon so hang in there y'all!

Lisa, we passed through your area last week going to Texas and I had to laugh when I saw mini-Epcot it made me think of you.

As I read along, I'm guessing y'all got LLMPs ? If so, at some point please review your experience with that (picks, availability, etc)

I'm so glad that someone else got to see my mini-Epcot! Where'd you visit in Texas?
We went to Allen & Waco it was a nice trip. Everyone we encountered in Waco was so absolutely nice. I think it's one of the friendliest places I've visited.

Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry to hear about your choking incident. I can't imagine how terrifying that was for all parties involved. I'm glad you're okay and hope the ribs heal quick. I've cracked a rib before and it's definitely an injury you notice all the time! Be mindful of it while you're out there tending your garden and chickens.

Your dinner at Le Cellier looked delicious. And it was probably very relaxing, walking over to the Skyliner in an emptied out Epcot. A nice, peaceful way to end a nice meal together.

We absolutely love lightning lane and purchased it for almost every day of our trip. I chose our first attraction to start early in the day and then stacked them from there. We were able to book additional attractions until around mid-afternoon when we would only find things that we had either already done or didn't want to do that day.

It was so very scary! I'm paranoid now.

Why the droopy face? Hooray for Hollywood and the Chapel!

Today was a day that we had nothing planned except for the evening when we'd be attending a special ticketed event. Because we had no plans, we could sleep in, take it easy, etc. I took this picture as we were headed out of the door.

We would have been on our way sooner but we realized that I had forgotten a key piece of my outfit for the evening and we were looking for it. Alas, it wasn't there and I was going to have to improvise.

As we were riding to Disney Springs, we were trying to decide what we wanted for lunch. We had no dinner plans and weren't sure what we'd be doing for dinner. We decided why not eaten a biggerish lunch and do a snackish type dinner.

I checked the app and Planet Hollywood had availability. I booked an ADR and we had plenty of time to shop a bit as we walked to the restaurant. We were seated as soon as we arrived:

I ordered ribs and waffle fries which were served on this cute little picnic table. They also brought me a plate which I was thankful for since it would have been hard to eat off his picnic table:

John went with the same dish he always has when we eat here. The fried lasagna:

IMG_6678.JPEG

Both dishes were great and we were both glad that we had chosen Planet Hollywood for our lunch.

While eating, we were trying to figure out what I was going to do about the missing piece of my outfit. We were both bummed because we had spent months perfecting what we were going to wear this evening. I was kinda pouty:

Until we both remembered Chapel Hats!

We went in and shopped and I found exactly what I was looking for!

You'll see my purchase later on in the report. Purchase made, we backtracked a bit and reached our next destination quickly.

**Next: I'll take one of those and those and those and those...oh wait there's a limit!

**Edited to add 'cause I always feel like I need to. Those of you who have read my reports before probably remember that I have Bells Palsy. It makes one side of my face droop and when I smile, one eye almost goes away. It makes for some weird looking pictures. So, my droopy face picture really is a droopy face picture. LOL

I'll take one of those and those and those and those...oh wait there's a limit!

So, where did we backtrack to? Gideons Bakehouse! I just love their cookies. John doesn't care for them too much because he likes crunchy cookies and Gideon's cookies are anything but crunch. The line was pretty long but we got in anyway.

My sister called while we were in line and it kind of scared me. Mama was still in the nursing home and the dementia was progressing quickly so I was alarmed when my phone rang and it was my sister. We had already said that nobody would call us without first texting to say whether or not it was an emergency. I didn't get a text first and I was freaking out because she was calling. It ended up that she just forgot to text first and was seeing how the trip was going. We chatted for a while and I told her that we were next in line so she let me go and promised not to call again without texting first. (for those of you around my age...do you remember when you were going to call your friend and you'd call and let it ring three times and then hang up and call back...that was code for we need to talk?)

We were let in with one other couple and I remembered to take pictures of the inside this time:

As we neared the cookie and cake displays, I pulled up a text and was texting John what we wanted. It was the easiest way to remember what we were going to order. When I got to the register, I pulled up the text and read it off.

**Continued in next post

These were the choices to be had on this day:

I ended up getting six cookies which is the limit and a slice of cake. Purchases made, we did another backtrack to take this picture:

IMG_6699.JPEG

I had on my Jessica Rabbit shirt not because I'm a big Roger Rabbit fan but because I thought the design was really cute, I had capris and shoes to match. I also made a pair of denim ears to match but didn't end up wearing them that day.

**Up next: We're on island time now baby!

We're on island time now baby!

We decided to head on back to the resort and spend some down time. On our way to the bus stop, we saw this traveling piano and he was singing Christmas songs. You never know what you'll see at Disney Springs.

IMG_6704.JPEG

As we were waiting, I snapped a pic of this "new to us" bus as we hadn't seen this wrap on a bus before. It was super cute!

IMG_6705.JPEG

In no time at all, we were back at the resort. We walked to Centertown and filled up our refillable mugs. John with coffee and me with a Coca Cola lime from the Freestyle machine. We wanted to sit outside and take in the beautiful weather so we went to the island in the middle of the lake, found two chairs and settled in.

IMG_6706.JPEG

I opened one of the cookies from Gideons and the two of us shared. After just a couple of bites, John was done. As I said, he likes crunchy cookies and the cookies from Gideons are anything but crunchy.

John called his parents to check in on them. I texted my family in the big family text group we have had going ever since Mama fell. It's the easiest way to keep everyone updated at once and the best way to make sure everyone knows exactly what is going on instead of this one passing the message along to that one who may get it confused before the next one gets the news. My niece was going to see Mama that afternoon and she'd make sure to provide an update. I have always been Mama's constant and I was really concerned that she would wonder where I was and it would cause her to be upset. I was thankful that my niece was going and would post an update after the visit.

We ended up relaxing for over an hour before we decided to walk back to our building and get freshened up for the evening. It's always so nice that have down time worked into a trip!

**Up next: It is PERFECT! Ooooh you so fancy!

It is PERFECT! Ooooh you so fancy!
You may be wondering what we were doing this evening and where we were going. We were going to Jollywood baby! We had attended the very first Jollywood and had dressed in 1950s style clothing. This year, we were going all out. Faux fur, bow ties, vests, sparkly jewelry, petticoats and and all!
When I mentioned earlier that I somehow didn't make a key piece to my outfit, I was talking about my fascinator. I had purchased one to wear but it somehow got left at home even though I had put everything in one place before I started packing. Thankfully, I was able to find one at The Chapel and it worked perfectly!
IMG_6717.JPEG

I hate taking selfies in a mirror because one of us will be looking at the camera and one will be looking to see if I am actually pushing the button. Lord help us! We old! LOL

IMG_6719.JPEG

And I don't like this one because look at all the crap that's behind us. Oh well, I have better PhotoPass pictures that I will post later.

IMG_6720.JPEG
One of my friends from home was going to be at the festivities that evening too and we made plans to meet up sometime during the evening. She had been asking what I would be wearing and we were anxious to see each other's outfits.

We finished touching up and walked to the Skyliner station to make the short ride to Hollywood Studios.

**Up next: That was such a cute show!

Finally caught up! I haven't eaten at a Planet Hollywood in YEARS. I actually kind of forgot they existed. And I haven't ever had a Gideon's cookie. First - I'm really not a fan of Disney Spring (I miss the old Downtown Disney and am still bitter about the whole thing. I tend to hold grudges.) Second - even though I am a fluffy girl, I won't wait in line for a cookie. Or, I guess not THAT long of a line. Plus, if I'm getting cookies at Springs, the Summerhouse cookies appeal to me more visually.

That outfit!!!! You all look great.

As for your mom, I get it. We have been having challenges with my dad for years. Luckily, his long term memory still seems to be fairly intact. His short term memory - not so much. I understand your worries while you are gone.

We used to not go to Disney Springs very often but the last ten or so trips, we have gone a lot....like a lot a lot.

We've not tried the cookies at Summerhouse. I'll put that on my list of things "new to us" and stop by.

Thank you! I was very happy with the way our outfits turned out. I searched far and wide for just the right thing to wear.

Taking care of our elderly parents is very taxing and the worry can be overwhelming at times!

Love this Trip Report as I have loved ALL your many Trip Reports and always look forward to them.

I smiled when you said you like jewelry when at Disney and I definitely do also. Never come home without something of a jewelry category. I've bought Crislu occasionally but most of what I buy is the 'cheap' stuff and my sweet husband sprays everything with something so they don't tanish....as fast. He just rolls his eyes and says nothing.

I am crazy about your picture of the white rose jewelry set and definitely wasn't at Disney when there end of January. I would have bought.

The Lug cases were / are really cute. My daughter lives 8 months 55 minutes from Disney and goes very often and last week she bought and sent a picture of the Lug Orange Bird. So cute. I bought Lug from HSN shopping many years ago when the designer first started out and what I bought still looks like brand new many years later.

Can't wait to read each entry you make.

PS: You both looked stunning in that dress-up picture. So lovely.
PSS: From Day One my normally non-judgmental husband has greatly disliked Figment. Thinks he looks devilish.
