Disneyland CA photo get-together 26 January 07?!

howdy folks,

i'll be in the good ol' USofA later this month and will be going to Disneyland on Friday the 26th with my litle sister (CarolC). she'll be trying out her brand new Nikon and i'll be taking lots of 'shots an average tourist wouldn't take' with my dslr and film. we would welcome anyone who wants to tag along or simply meet up.

my kids and DW won't be with me on this trip, but Carol is bringing her kids. so if you've got young'ns and want to bring them along, please do!

if we do happen to get some people, i'm sure Carol will want to do a photo scavenger hunt.

if you have any questions, feel free to post them or pm for more detail. i'm really sorry about the short notice - i only confirmed i'd be there today. i'm hoping there are some cali locals who would like to meet up.

so hold on to yer bags and lens caps... this here's the wildest, um...er... sorry - i can't start an announcement with 'howdy folks...' and not end this way.

I'm in! There is currently a SoCal special - the annual Southern California 2-fer. Two parks for one price... (two different days). Do you want to go to both parks while you are here?

i'm not expecting to ride many rides - but take lots of photos and hopefully answer lots of questions, too.. Carol i would like to go to CA if the parks aren't as busy - pretty much to ride ToT :0

There's little danger of CA ever being busy.

The ToT there pales next to the WDW version, unfortunately, especially the exterior theming. The ride itself also loses some sections, although the added "wave goodbye" scene is cute, and the elevator shuddering is a good effect. Still a great ride, but they could have done more.

The one in Tokyo Disneyland, though, looks amazing - I'll have to figure out a way to get out there one of these days!

The rumors are that they'd considering putting a ton of money into improving CA - they really should, it's a big disappointment as is and unloved by the locals, who are critical for Disneyland. IMHO they should also rip out all that carnival junk, that's the stuff I go to Disney to avoid! (I feel the same way about the Dino-Rama at Animal Kingdom.)

I do hope to get an LA/Disneyland trip in sometime maybe late this year, but definitely not early enough for your upcoming trip. Maybe next time! Enjoy the trip!

I travel down there about once a month, unfortunately my trip this month will be the week before. That's the great thing about covering SoCal is I can go down at at least hang out in DTD at night.

Oh this sounds like so much fun! I was just in SoCal over the new year. I wish people in my neck of the woods would do fun stuff like this!
