Disney YES Program Open to non-groups

Can anyone tell me how to get to your class if it starts before the parks open? We are using ME so we are not planning to rent a car. Thanks!

So, if I've read everything correctly, with the "yes" program; you can order the tickets before you enroll in the class, and before you know if there are enough ppl. for a class? Is that correct?
If so, what happens if you order the tickets/pay for them/enroll in the class, and then the class gets canceled because there's not enough ppl. What happens at that point? Are you really just out the amount of the ticket cost that you already paid for? Do the tickets not work at that point? I know it says non-refundable, but it seems really odd that they'd be allowed to and from a customer service sense, that they'd want to do that?

In NC you have to have a name for your homeschool when you homeschool your kids, so I just used that. What date are you attending?

We're going to the presentation on Jan 24th at 10:00 at the AK.

Sometimes organization ask for a school name. Some families use their last name (Smith Homeschool), some their street name (Broadway Ave Homeschool), and some create a name that says something about their homeschool. We created an acronym as part of our homeschool name. So you can keep it simple or be creative. :)

Thanks! I guess I'll have to get a little creative. :goodvibes

From what I've read on this thread if they cancel the class due to lack of people, then you can still use your tickets.

I asked alot of the same questions to the CM before I ordered our tickets. Here is what I found out:

Ticket date range: when you order, you specify when your group is arriving and departing. The tickets are valid "7 days prior to arrival until 7 days after group's main departure date." This quote comes from my order confirmation.

If they cancel your class due to not enough people: According to the CM on the phone: About a week before the class, they will confirm whether there are enough people to attend. If not, they will try to accomodate you in a different class, but if one is not available or does not work with your schedule, you can still use the tickets.

Ordering more than 5 days: Go through the entire registration process. Select the 5 day option for the class you want. On one of the last pages there is a "comments" section. In that space, write the actual number of days you want, example: "I selected 5 day park hoppers but I really want 10 day park hoppers." etc. Someone reviews each order before it is processed and will make the adjustment. A few days after placing my order, I received an email confirmation of my order that indicated the correct number of days and the total charge. When my credit card was charged, it was charged for $4.50 more than my order confirmation. This is the service charge per order.

Picking up tickets: You can specify pickup at Will Call at the park of your choice and the date of your choice, or you can have them shipped to your home for $10. Will Call windows close early in the day. If you have a late arrival and want to go to the parks on your arrival day, have them shipped to your house.

Does anyone have the list of restaurants that the meal vouchers can be used and does dessert come with the meal. Thanks

I hope one of you knowledgeable folks can answer what feels like an obvious question :rotfl:

I'm looking at a class around June 14th and it states it is no longer accepting "reservations" at this time. Does this mean it's full or too soon to register? I believe when I talked about this before it meant it wasn't available yet but I swear I was able to get in 2 weeks ago? :confused3

My second probably obvious question - can we register for a June class now? The reason why I ask is because when I go to the classes available around the same time it states in the registration part that they are only accepting reservations January through February at this time.

Thanks in advance! :thumbsup2

I am so excited! We will be attending our first YES program in January. I wanted to see if anyone else on the disboards would be participating in our class: Animal Kingdom, January 11th, Wild By Nature

It will just be our son, who is 10 participating in the class. However, I will be tagging along. Does anyone know if my husband can walk around with us during the class or must he go find something else to do?

Also, I requested that the tickets be mailed to us. Does anyone know when I might expect to receive them in the mail?

I ordered them for February, 2011 on a Thursday a few weeks ago. My Credit Card was charged on the following Monday. The tickets arrived in the mail in less than a week after that.

YAY! I received our tickets today in the mail. That was so quick! I really did not expect to receive them that fast.

Still looking to hear from my fellow disboarders, to see if anyone on here will be joining us for the Wild By Nature Animal Kingdom class on January 11th.

Also, does anyone know if my husband will be able to participate in the class since we have only one child? I will be the one participating in the class with our son but would love from my husband to be with us as well.

I did more researching and re-read some of the thread from earlier and I think I've answered my own questions :lmao:

I went through the process for registering and the only classes showing available to purchase so far are the Jan and Feb classes. Others had suggested this so that was helpful. It would appear the earliest we could sign up for June classes would be around April/May - would you guys agree?

Thanks,
Heather

We were looking at trying to get a group together for the week of Nov 13-19..we have 2 girls so we would need 8 more kids for the group. They don't have open enrollment yet for this time.

My only dilemma is that it says for a group that ther is a maximum of 1 adult per 5 students..if we get a group together of different families, this wouldn't work. Has anyone done a group like this with strangers and had it work? We could just wait and hope for open enrollment I guess. We were looking at the How things work class for 5-8 year olds.

Does anyone have an email address to send questions to? There's a phone # on the website, but I really prefer email.

We will be in WDW June 5-10, 2011, and I am trying to form a group for a class. Our kids range in ages from 9-17 (will have completed 3rd through 11th grade), so we're looking at a class that is probably grades 3-12. If anyone will be there during this time and is interested in doing a class, please let me know!! We have our 5 kids and someone else on the boards has their 2 kids (and possibly a third), so that's at least 7 kids so far... we need 10!!

Just to add a bit of information I found out.

I am staying for an extended time in Florida, so when I ordered my tix I put the arrival date as 1/1/11 and ending date of 3/31/11. I recieved a phone call about that and I found out the longest they can make the tix valid for is 1 month.

I hope that helps anyone who is thinking about an extended stay in Florida along with their Y.E.S. program.

Anyone have any idea about hotel prices for groups? Wondering what kind of discount they offer. I see the link but then you have to submit your info it looks like to get a price.

I submitted my info when I first started making my plans a couple months ago. I forget the details, but remember thinking they were pretty good deals. Had a couple places call me after sending me emails, but no one called me again after I told them I had found different accomodations.

Not sure how big your group is or how they know each other, but, since we're mostly family, we ended up going through www.vrbo.com & found a 7-bedroom villa for our group of 17 for only $1300 for our week in September(includes cleaning fees, taxes, pool heat, etc).
