Disney YES Program Open to non-groups

Check Individual Enrollment classes on Yes site or give them a call but as far as I know after the February classes the next scheduled Individual Enrollment classes will be in June.

Usually they do not schedule them during months when holidays fall or high guest attendance times like Spring Break, Grad Days in May, etc..

I had assumed last year that Disney was doing this during off-peak times, but when I just looked at the schedule the other day I thought it was odd that they are offering classes throughout the summer.

Did they have them all last summer? Do they usually offer classes the same weeks from year to year?

I just placed the order for our family - DH will take DS to EPCOT's Dynamics of Technology and I'll take DD to AK's Wild by Nature. I'm nervous that I was charged twice for the tickets though - I only paid once, but there are two payments shown on my confirmation. I put a call in to Sarah at YES to check on it - thanks to those who recommended and posted # for her!

I'm so excited to get the tickets! I'm still shocked by the savings on tickets! The kids will get to experience the Water Parks for the first time.

Last year was the first time they offered open (individual) enrollment in addition to Homeschool Days. They did offer last summer as well. Someone said it looks like they are not offering during busy times like holidays. My guess would be that they are not offering during times that the YES office normally gets a lot of groups like scouts, bands, etc. Because they would already be doing so many classes for those groups. Just a guess :-).

Has anyone had to cancel due to illness? What happens to the tickets in that event? We had a really bad time with illnesses/hospitalizations this year. I do plan to add trip insurance but just wondered what happens if dd were to get sick while there? I would hate to have part of the trip ruined by sickness and then find out that we can't use the tickets on top of it. Would they refund your money if they canceled your tix? And before you make any assumptions - no, I do not plan to buy the tickets and not show up to class. I really am concerned with the fall and winter we've had this year about even risking going in October next year. But that is our favorite time of year and the easiest for DH to get off work.

We signed up last year and my son ended up with a viral strep the day before the class. We went to the Minute Clinic to get a swab since he had a fever. I called the next morning(morning of the YES class) and let the leader know he would not be coming due to illness. They didn't cancel our tickets. I kept the paperwork just in case I got denied this year, but my order went through and my credit card has been charged. I think as long as you are honest and respectful of their time, you will be fine. We have three doing the YES class this year, and they can't wait!

Many have posted about getting tickets for cousins, aunts, uncles, etc. I don't think it matters if they are a nephew. They are Youth tickets because they are sold through the Youth programs but they are good for either children or adults.

Like a lot of Disney policies, you can probably get away with breaking the rules, but the tickets are only supposed to be for immediate family.

Thank you! Is their a minute clinic onsite? We would likely be staying at Bonnet Creek. We've been to Disney several times and thankfully nobody has ever gotten sick. But now that we have toddlers as well as our dd 12, you never know what will happen.

It was down 192, took us about 15 minutes from Emerald Island.

What happens if we sign up and order tix. and one of my kids or inlaws gets very sick and we have to postpone our trip??
Would the tix. price be covered under vacation insurance since you have to use them within 14 days of the class?

I ask this as we almost had to postpone our last trip as my MIL was diagnosed with uterine cancer. She found out a week before our trip. They allowed her to go and then she had surgery when we retrned.

DS,16 will be taking a class at Epcot. When we signed up it stated that a parent was not required attend the class but must stay in the park during the class.

His class start time is 7:45AM, the park does not open that day until 9AM. Where do we stay and what do we do? :confused3

I'm assuming since the park isn't open yet there is no QS places to grab breakfast. We really aren't interested in the character breakfast either.

After DS's class we will be hopping over to DHS. I'm thinking one of us will need to hop over there to grab FPs for TSM before they run out. Would I be allowed to take DS's ticket with us to do that? He will already be in the park for his class and our tickets are PHs.

No, the ticket must be used to enter the park in order to be able to get a FP with it. Could you go to one of the EPCOT resorts for breakfast (Boardwalk Bakery maybe? And then enter through international gateway when park opens?

LOVE the Bakery idea-have never tried there and have always wanted to.

So even though his class starts at 7:45 we won't have to be in the park with him?

Darn it all on the FP for TSM :headache: That means both DH and I would both have to enter to even get just 2 passes, and if 1 of us needs to be at Epcot w/DS that can't happen either.

Maybe the newly re-opened Star Tours will distract everyone and the lines will not be bad (wishful thinking I'm sure :rotfl:)

April 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 or 8.

I have 3 kids. 12, 10, 8. I guess not all would have to participate if no room for all. Does anyone have availability? or is there a 'share' thread?

Thanks so much for any help.

Trish

I'm still waiting on classes TBA for October....but do all the parks have resort options like the one you mentioned above? The early class times had me wondering about the breakfast thing.

Okay, so I ordered 5 day tickets for my son and my husband.. He'll be taking the "How things Move" class in august. Is it possible to add on 2 more sets of tickets for me, his mother and his brother since we are immediate family? Would I be able to call and have those added on?

I had a situation where I was wanting to buy an extra ticket at a later time. I emailed and asked about it and was told that I would have to buy all tickets at the same time.
