Disney Y.E.S. Program

We took the Synergy in Science class in January, so it was pretty comfortable outside. Part of the class is indoors, but much of it was not. IIRC we started off in Innoventions West, for maybe 15 minutes, where the kids participated in an activity. Then we went to Spaceship Earth, and afterwards discussed what we saw once we were back outside, for maybe 15 minutes. Then we went to the Imagination pavilion where we had a brief chat before riding the Figment ride, and another after we got back outside. Then we went into the movie. After the movie we stopped outside to discuss it, sitting in a circle on the ground near the Imagination restrooms for probably 30 minutes. Then we went inside the building where the Character Spot is, but we went in the back. The kids did a brief activity there and our class ended about 15 minutes early.

I'm sorry you were so uncomfortable. I thought the class was inside, how can children learn and stay focused in the heat? We chose not to do Synergy in Science because it was mostly working in 3d and my DS has depth perception issues. He would have been miserable.

I need to add one more day to my tickets. Does anyone have the contact number to do that?

Thanks!

I just did the same thing last week -not sure if you will get Dave or not but this should work. I think you need to change prior to 14 days before your trip, but I believe that is the only restriction.

We'll be there in 2 weeks:) Good to know.. did they have you go on anything? My DD13 is petrified of it's Tough to be a Bug (she was bitten there years ago). This is a surprise trip for her, and I am getting excited for her!:cool1:

The only ride we did was the Safari. The class ended at the exit of It's Tough to be a Bug, but we didn't go into the show. I think she'll enjoy the class :) We did a surprise trip for my boys years ago, it was so much fun revealing where we were going that morning! We got all the way to the airport before we told them the truth!

Does anyone know if they typically offer classes in late November? If so, when would they post them?

My 2 teenage boys (14 + 15 ) are taking the Properties of Motion class early morning on Friday, Sept 7, 2012:)

Any other Dis folks got kids in that class?:confused3

They are looking forward to it (except for the early start time;))

Just hoping there will be others in the class. I know another posted said she had some teenage girls in that class too, I think. Just chiming in to say hi and see if anyone else will be there :listen:

My DD and I are in the class but we'll be in the class for the "little kids". LOL My daughter is 10. Might see you at the meeting spot in the wee hours that morning? I'm super excited about getting into the MK early. Hoping DH doesn't change his mind and want to accompany her. He went with her last year to the class at Epcot. It's my turn. :cool1:

Hi! My DD12 and I will be in that class, too. The start time is sooooo early :faint:, but it looks like it will be a great class and because it starts so early, it will be over pretty early and we can continue on with our day. I think I am looking forward to this class more than DD....I am excited about the possibility of riding Space Mountain with the lights on! I bet after that, I will never look at it the same again when I ride it normal! :scared1:

Is the class for younger ones at the same time (7:15am)? I am excited about being in the MK early too! DH will be at CR finishing up convention that morning. Hope to say hello to you Jayhawk Fan!:)

Hi Nature Mom:cool1: I haven't decide whether I'm gonna stay with the boys (they don't really need a chaperone at their ages...lol) but it would be cool to take the class too. Glad to know at least they won't be alone in the class:thumbsup2

See ya bright and early:rolleyes:

Question for everyone with experience in this.

Can I pick up my wife's and daughter's YES tickets without them being with me? I will be listed as the pick-up person, but do they have to physically be there when I get them?
They will arrive in Fl later than me, and the ticket office will already be closed. The class is early the next morning.

If it matters, I am only the pick-up person. I, myself, am not getting a YES ticket - AP holder.

Also, what do they have to take along at the check-in for the class? DO they have to have ID, confirmation papers, etc?

Thanks

The 8-11 year old group (and one excited 38 year old Mom) meets at 7:15 a.m. at the Ticket & Transportation Center. Is that where the older kids meet as well?

We will definitely be there early as we wouldn't want to be left behind or keep anybody waiting. DD is my mini me so we should be easy to spot. Both are tall, have blonde hair .. she has glasses and I do not. I'll probably have my red phone in my hand as I'm always on FB or checking something online while waiting. :surfweb:

Hope to see you there ...

I can't imagine why they would give you any problems not having your wife and daughter with you when you pick up the tickets. Shouldn't have any problems. The one other time we did the class we took our printed confirmation with us .. I had ID because I always have it with me and also our park tickets. They never asked for any form of ID for my daughter who was 10 at the time.

Only the pick up person has to be there. I picked up all 4 of our tickets alone last month.

Thanks guys. Can you tell me if you had to show your ID for the actual class?
My wife doesn't typically carry her wallet/purse for fear of losing them at the parks. Will she and/or my daughter have to show ID or just the confirmation paper when checking in for the class?

I know we didn't show ID. I don't even think they needed the confirmation. We just told them the kids' names and they checked them off on their list.

You absolutely need to show ID. I didn't bring my ID but I had my kttw and the ticket window at Epcot gave me such a hard time. I had my printed confirmation and DH had his ID and the credit card we used to purchase the tickets and still I had to see 2 different supervisors before they allowed me to pick up my tickets.

I think they are talking about at the class itself.

You should always have ID when picking up tickets at will call for the least amount of issues.
