Disney Y.E.S. Program

I know you can get them at the guest services by DisneyQuest. That's where we picked ours up. I imagine that is on the other side of DTD, since there is no water near DQ.

There is a boat dock on Westside, but unless they've changed things, it only shuttles to the Marketplace dock.

There is a Guest Services on the Marketplace side, I believe near Team Mickey. I _believe_ you can get the tickets there too, but they are smaller so I'm not 100% sure.

We finished at 11:30 @ the exit of It's tough to be a bug. the class took the whole 3 hours.

Thanks! I just didn't want to get there early and hang out there in the hot sun for too long.

Yes, I am guessing we'll get off the boat on the other side of DTD. I don't really know what DisneyQuest is but I've seen it mentioned a lot so there must be big signs for it. We'll be looking for it. Thanks!

Thank you! Maybe we'll try that first since it sounds closer.

Does this ever happen? Would the class reopen on the website or would I have to call to see if there have been any cancellations?

Not really sure, but when I emailed, they made it sound like a cancellation would open the class back up on the site. So I am checking each day, multiple times a day!!

Crossing my fingers!!

Yes, you can get them at guest relations on the Marketplace side. It's right next to the Team Mickey store -we got ours there last year.

Do you know the hours there? I was told by the YES folks that I could pick up at Disney Quest but they don't open until 11!

Thanks

DisneyQuest itself may not open until 11am - I believe the Guest Services, which is located outside it (well, built into the wall of it :) ) opens earlier. I want to say something like between 8:30-9:30. IIRC, the Marketplace one opens at 8:30, and Westside at 9:30.

I also thought there was the rule about one parent.

Ya, this is one of those sticky Disney ethical things.
There are people who feel strongly both ways.

Technically, only one parent per family. But there is a loophole as someone suggested (registering the kids separately)

Two problems with this-

1) in the time it takes you to register the 2nd kid/parent combo, you could get locked out of the class.

2) The number of slots in the class is limited (no matter whether they are kids or adults). So if two parent-kid combos take up 4 slots, that is one less slot for another child. And these programs are for kids, not adults. (I know, they sound fun)

It makes me sad to think that a child may be locked out of a class because both parents want to experience the class. I understand why people do it (the class is neat) but I just feel badly. I'm not judging anyone, just throwing it out there for what it's worth.

Its one of those sticky situations. Do whatever you feel comfortable with.

Thanks!! So does anyone know if we take a boat from POR, where do we get off at? Is that the Marketplace side and Team Mickey is there??

I believe the POR boat goes to Marketplace only.

OKW and SSR boats may go to the PI dock, which is more in the middle...don't know if they still do that. I think it changes from time to time.

Great, thanks! I feel dumb asking all these questions but I can't find a good map of DTD that shows more than just a few places so I appreciate the help!

I was told the class limits are for students.

Here is a link to a map Robo made. This is all of DTD:

Correction to the map above...The McDonalds is no longer there and a Mexican Fast Food has taken it's place.

I haven't heard of classes filling up within the five minutes it would take to register, but I guess it could happen. As for a child being locked out because of another parent registering, that wouldn't happen. The limit they set on class size is for students. Parents are not included in the count. ;)

When I signed DS up this year, he took the last spot in the class, and the website changed immediately to closed. SO I would say that it is technically possible for the class to close before you registered the second child/parent.

For what it's worth, when we went last year we signed up 2 kids/1 parent and the morning of the class (synergy in science) we asked if it would be ok for the other parent to tag along, and our cm had no problem with it. I have no idea if this depends on the cm, or the class or time of year or what. We just thought we would ask and if they said no, no big deal, but it was nice for DH and I to both be there.

Need opinions on what to do with extra class we booked. DS#2 & I are now scheduled to take the Synergy in Science class the day before our Wild by Nature class in which me & both DS will be attending. Now it looks like DH will have to return before the Synergy in Science class so I won't have anyone to be with DS#1. I can't leave him alone and he is too old for the Synergy in Science class. Should I just cancel the Science class or is there any alternative that anyone can think of?

I'd just cancel it, since he will need a chaperone and they won't let siblings attend. You would still have the class needed to keep the YES tickets.
