Disney Y.E.S. Program

I just wanted to update y'all since I finally received a response from the YES program regarding my sons' & husband's attendance at their program. I emailed them a picture of the group & pointed out which kids were mine, and told them what the kids did in the class. They agreed that my family did indeed attend the class & made note of it in their records. I'm so relieved, because I would hate for us to be barred from future programs because of their oversight.

I think a pp had asked what the kids made in the Synergy in Science class. It wasn't a take-home project, just something that the group worked together on. Without spoiling the surprise (and it's not a big deal, lol!) it was cute, but not something that anyone got to keep.

I'm not sure how those of us who bought the water parks option are ending up with different #'s of entries into the water parks & dq, but my tickets were definitely just the 5 days of those entries, plus our 8 days of park hoppers. I wonder if it varies by where the tickets are picked up? We got ours from the group sales window at Epcot (after waiting in line at a regular will-call window, we were directed to go to group sales). Also, we were told that they would expire 14 days from the day I picked them up. Again not what I expected, given the verbage on my YES receipt, but I didn't care because we were only staying 9 days anyway. :confused3

My family has participated in the yes program once before and attended the Wild By Nature class. I wrote a quick review here but I am sure it is long gone with all the other posts since. We loved it and the kids still talk about it till this day! Thanks Disney!

I am planning another short trip with friends feb 2013. Can anyone tell me when the yes program dates were for the 2012 year? I have searched for an old calender and can't find one anywhere. Was it for the whole month or just the first 2 weeks? I just need to have an idea so I can get an idea of prices for the room. I understand the exact dates won't be out until october-ish.

Thanks in advance!

Just wondering, do you remember if the class lasted the whole 3 hours? Ours is on our departure day, so I am just trying to juggle everything. Is the class basically doing the safari and the walking trails?

I am going to guess it all depends on who teaches the class. We rode the safari and also saw Bugs Life. We walked some of the trails. It was at least 2 and 1/2 hours. My family enjoyed it.

As far as the Ocean Discoveries class goes... it was great... we broke off in a group of 7 I believe... we were all over the place.... outside and inside of the Living Seas... we learned all about Sea Turtles. We did about 5 or so activities. The kids placed trivia game with flash cards.. It was non stop busy.. I don't want to spoil it... You will love it! If you have any questions.. feel free to private message me here and I will tell you what I know.. It was great.. we also rode the Nemo ride at the end.

I have been trying to reach someone at the YES office all day. Everytime I call I get the recording saying to leave a message. I left one first thing this morning....and then at 4pm realized that I had never received a call back. I left another message.
I was wanting to switch my dd from one class to another since they have added classes since I registered in Feb. She really wanted the other class they added. Has anyone ever changed from one class to another? I really wish they would call me back, because if I can do this I want to do it soon before the class fills up.
Does anyone have a suggestion as to how to get someone to call me back...or a different number or extension? I called the number posted here (for Dave) and I just get the main voicemail box.
I also emailed the girl I spoke with back in Feb...but I got an auto reply saying her internship was up and she was no longer in that position. UUUGGGGHHHHH

When I called, I didn't even punch in an extension, just the main number and I got Dave. Maybe it was his day off? I'd keep calling every hour or so until I get a live person.

Well, the number I have is 407-472-4676 and it goes to voice activated prompts. I was told to put in extension 14 for his number. It goes to a general voicemail box...it doesnt even say his name...it says "you have reached the general voicemailbox"???? I have called another phone number I had and reached an intern who says that she is passing the info to Dave herself. I just cant figure out why I can reach NO LIVE person at that number. When I put in "O" it takes me back to the general voicemailbox:confused3 More stress...not what I need:eek: Guess I will wait and see if this intern can get him to call me:rolleyes1
Do you have a different number for him then what I called since you said you didnt have to put in an extension? The intern said he wasnt on vacation. Thanks for the help.

No, that's the number I called. I guess just keep trying. Sorry, you are having trouble.

There is the Youth programs number 1-877-WD-YOUTH , maybe they can help.

WooHoo!!! I just got off the phone with him! He said they have been slammed with calls and its just busy. I told him everything was going to voicemail, even the operator prompt, but he just said they were busy. The intern evidently came through on that one:cool1: I was able to move my daughter from Wild By Nature on 10/23 to Animation Magic on the same day:cool1: My dd will be so excited:banana:
Has anyone done the Animation Magic class (older kids 12-17)? So happy to have that change done! Thanks for all the help:)

Dave told me his personal extension is 12 (I had been told to punch 14) and his email is info@studentguest.com
in case anyone else needs to get him :) Thanks jcemom for the email address :)

Has anyone done more than one class? My kids are signed up for Wild by Nature, but Ocean Discovery is also open. Extra class would be $28 per child extra ($56 total). Worth it?? We will be in Disney for 8 days, so could make the time if it truly worthwhile.

Last fall we did the Energy & Waves class (MK class), the Animation Class (DHS class), Wild by Nature (AK) and then the Homeschool day class that was at Epcot. Out of all of them, Wild by Nature was our absolute favorite, enough that DD12 wants to do it again! To me, I thought Animation Magic was a bit of a disappointment, we kept getting switched to a new CM, parts of the class were very technical and there was lots of verbal information but not as much 'doing', if you know what I mean. My DD loves art and she lost interest in this class about halfway through. You could actually see the boredom hit a lot of the kids! lol Much of the things done in that class can be done without taking the class, like drawing with an animator, etc. We won't be doing the class again for those reasons, since I don't need to spend extra money to draw or tour the studios. We will try something new (Making waves with a Marine Career for one!) next time. :thumbsup2

HS, and I think we met at 7:45 a.m.

:thanks: I went to the YES site but it doesn't give a ton details about what they actually do. What did you guys do?

ETA: Nevermind. I found more about it. We'll stick with Wild by Nature. Way more up their alley. :)

We were in your class for WBN, but moved to the Animation. Its the same day, but at 7:45 at DHS. My dd loves drawing and this was her first choice, but it wasnt offered in Feb when I booked and bought tickets. I was so happy to be able to move her to it. Enjoy WBN:)

My DGS is signed up for Disney's Production Arts and Sciences on Oct 19th.
It looks like a new class and I wondered if anyone has done this one yet.
Still hoping this is one that the grandson will enjoy.
