Disney Y.E.S. Program

Actually got my DS in the Captivating Moments: Images with Impact class on Wednesday August 28. I had seen the class added a couple weeks ago and was really hoping that it would stay open and it did! I'm thinking it stayed open for so long because it only shows up when you plug in your dates, its not in the main program listing. :goodvibes

My 14 year old did this class June 13. The instructor covered a lot of material in a little bit of time. My husband took photography in high school and college and said it was a really well done course.

Be sure your son understands his camera well. We had planned on using one camera but then switched it out for another at the last minute due to battery issues. My son said he wishes he had a little more time to mess with the camera he used before class time.

Thank you for the info!!! This whole trip is a surprise for him and I was going to buy a new camera to give him on the plane. Time to come up with creative ways to give him one sooner LOL. It can just be a point and shoot right? I wasnt planning on a DSLR just yet lol :lmao:

I'm excited to hear good things about the class, maybe I'll learn a little too! He is really into photography and cinematography so this just seemed perfect for him.

Point and shoot is what he would have used if Mom didn't forget the lithium batteries. It looked like the class participants had a variety of different ones. I think as long as it is digital, has a few settings and you can view what you shot, the class will work.

About the 8 days vs. 5 days, here is what the website says where you look at the ticket packages:

Eight days admission to Walt Disney World® Resort Theme Parks with the opportunity to visit multiple Parks on the same day, as many times as you'd like. Five visits to your choice of Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park, Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park or DisneyQuest® Indoor Interactive Theme Park. And one (1) Disney Youth Education Series program.

THis is a huge long shot - but is there any chance that anyone registered for a class withing the July 19th - July 30 range mght be thinking of changing their dates to later? My only hope of getting my children in is if this happens and a spot or spots are freed up. Please feel free to PM me if anyone is considering this!

Do you happen to know the hours of that GS location in DTD?

We arrive at night and will be at rope drop the next morning so I'd really like to avoid having to deal with ticketing then.

Hmm, that's a bummer, especially since the receipt from Disney says "Eight visits to your choice of Disney's Blizzard Beach Water park, Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park or DisneyQuest® Indoor Interactive Theme Park." I wonder if since the receipt says it we can still ask for 8 days? If not, I may have to tweak our itinerary a little bit. Any more reports on what others have actually received?

We just came home on Friday and our tickets were good for 8 visits to the waterparks and DQ.

ETA: That should say 8 visits to the waterparks and/or DQ.

I checked the YES website for weeks and all of the classes when we had our trip planned were closed. Checked back today for the first time in weeks after being discouraged and there they were -- all open at the end of October!! :cool1:

My shark-obsessed son will now be doing the Ocean Discoveries class at Epcot on 10/24, and he couldn't be more excited. We'd be doing this even if there wasn't any ticket discount, but that's a nice bonus :thumbsup2

The main lesson to anyone planning a Disney trip is that reservations of any kind -- rooms, restaurants, events, special programs like YES -- they open and close all the time. If you hit an obstacle in your planning, make an alternate plan but keep trying!

I have a question about the tickets - can they be applied to your KTTW card? In other words can you go to the concierge and ask them to apply them to your KTTW card? I ask this because with just "regular" tickets one doesn't have access to EMH. Thanks!!

They can't be added. You can still use EMH hours. Just show your room key.

Can someone please tell me who I can call to upgrade my tickets. if this is possible? I bought 5 day premiums and want to upgrade to 8 day premium.

Also, I have two separate reservations ,one under my name and the other under my husbands. Can I call for both, or does he have to call?

Has anyone joined together to form a group during the non-individual enrollment times? Does Disney allow it?
