Disney Y.E.S. Program

What class was it?

It was the Marine Career class. Last year we did the conservation themed class at Seas as well. He is considering Marine Biology as a Major so I think this one would be perfect. BUT!!!!!! we did get booked for Production arts and Sciences on the 21st, so at least we got the tix discounts and it sounds very interesting as well.

Concerning the age restrictions:

What if your'e signed up for a program for a certain age group, but your child has a birthday DURING the week of your trip, will they still be allowed in, being 1 year older than the limit (at the time of the class)?

Interesting question. In general, Disney says "you don't grow up" while at Disney - if you have a birthday while staying at WDW, you don't suddenly need to buy a more expensive ticket or order off the adult menu or anything.

But since the YES program is administered by the third party, that might warrant a call to find out.

By all means, call if you feel you must, but I really doubt it will make any difference.
You gave your children's ages when you ordered the tickets - you weren't trying to scam anyone.
When you pick up your YES tix, you will be asked for ID. I don't think they'll ask for any ID/age confirmation for your children.
I'm truly not trying to make light of your question - but I also doubt it will be a problem. I just would not bring it up when I picked or used the tix.
Good luck!

I'll have to check on that.

Also wondering how are they verifying the children's ages anyway??

We are scheduled for Everyday Chemistry at Epcot in July. We are to meet at 8:45. The class is 3 hours. Should we finish right at 12:00? I was able to get an ADR for lunch at LeCellier for 12:10. Do you think this is cutting it too close? Only chance we will have to eat there this trip so hope we can make it work.

Thanks!

They don't verify kids' ages from my experience. Now, if a child appeared too young, they might question the parents and that would be that. My son was 16 when we went last summer and he was in a class that was for 8-15 year olds with his 12 and 15 year old cousins. I spoke to the YES person about it before registering and I was told it was fine. They are more worried about children who are younger, since sometimes the material may not be appropriate for them if the class is geared toward older kids.

Hi everyone

This is such a huge thread and I have not gotten a chance to read it all. Does anyone know if you can use Disney Rewards to pay for the yes tickets?

Thanks so much!

I am fairly certain you can not use Disney rewards or gift cards to pay for the tickets. You're actually purchasing from "Student Guest Services, Division of CONVENTIONPLUS® LLC" not directly from Disney.

We have almost $500 in rewards and we're going to use ours either to pay off some of our room-only reservation at check in or for food during the trip.

This isn't an individual enrollment question but I was hoping someone might know the answer. I just booked my groups YES tickets and on the confirmation page is says:
Parking
Please note, parking in not included with your ticket. Current price to park at a Walt Disney World® Theme Park is $14.00 per car and $18.00 per bus per day. Parking prices are subject to change without notice.

In the past we were able to park for free on the day of the program at the park the program was taking place only. Has this changed?

If you are staying onsite I think parking is free, we stayed offsite and had to pay this past Oct.

Just wanted to chime in to say that I enrolled my two boys last night :clown: 14yrs and :drive: 15 years into the Matters In Motion class (for ages 12-17) on Sept 7. Ticket prices were a great savings for us.:) We are going to be there for DH's convention, so we also got a great rate at the CR due to convention rates:thumbsup2

Anyone else have kids in this class?:wave2:

I was wondering about the tickets themselves....are they the usual ticket media and can they be added to KTTW cards?:confused3 Is there a separate card or ticket for the day of classes?

TIA for any answers:goodvibes

They cannot be added to your KTTW card. They are the regular tyvek type of ticket, like you get when you order your tickets online. My AP was made of the same material, as was my MNSSHP and MVMCP tickets. KWIM?

On the day of your class you will use a regular admission off your ticket. There is no separate ticket for that day. Make sure you take the day of the class into consideration when deciding how many days you want to purchase. ;)

Thank you so much. :flower3: I understand about the ticket used day of class, I guess I was just wondering how to prove my kids were in the class? Do they just have everyone's name on a list and they check it off? Our class starts at 7:15am (which I am assuming is before MK opens). It says on my confirmation receipt that we are to meet at the TTC???? Maybe I will get more info closer to class time?

You're welcome. They will email you about a week before the class with all the details. We did not need to show any sort of ID for our class. Our instructor had a list with names that she checked off as we arrived.
