Disney Y.E.S. Program

We have always picked up our Y.E.S. tickets at group sales. It's a window connected to the Disney Quest building, if I remember correctly, or very near that building. Almost at the very end of DTD, by Cirque, etc.

We do not do parks on every day of our trip, especially the first/travel day, so we pick up at DTD on travel day to be ready for parks on the next day. I believe that window closes earlier than guest services at the parks, maybe. If I recall, I had to pick up before 5pm there last time.

There are homeschool days in oct. this year!:goodvibes

Have you done this lately, Leigh?

Just wondering because the e-mail voucher I rec'd right after ordering lists only EP, HS, AK & TCC @ MK. It would be so much easier to do ahead of time @ DYD!

Thanks!

Gretchen

I was told that tickets could be picked up in Downtown Disney at Quest. Has anyone picked up from DTD?

I want to pick up tickets the day before we enter the parks. I don't want to wait in line for tickets wasting precious park time the day of. BUT I'm also to cheap to pay for parking just to pick up tickets!

BTW....we aren't going until Aug. My kids are doing the Making Waves with a Marine Career on Aug. 13. Anyone else?????

Yep, that's where I picked ours up in July! Well, it was near Quest (at the Ticket and Transportation Center.. I think that's what its called). I planned it that way so my daughter and I could enjoy some 'free' disney waiting on the rest of the family to drive down that afternoon :)

Thanks very much for the helpful replies. So if DS were 17 he'd be eligible for the YES tickets as well (5 total)? He's 17 now but will turn 18 shortly before we leave. Oh well. Anyone with any thoughts on the Animation Magic class?
Yes. A 17 year old would be listed as a child, but an 18 year old must be listed as an adult.

DisneyQuest is at Downtown Disney Westside - not really near the TTC, which is where the monorail routes converge and the parking lot for the Magic Kingdom.

Is it possible for a child to do more than one class? DD8 now wants to do wild by nature and animation magic. Any additional cost?

I think if I remember correctly it is $28 for each additional class.

I read somewhere that the park tickets that you get for the YES program are paper (or at least not the card like the KTTW card). Does that mean you wouldn't be able to get Fastpasses? Or is there some way to do that without having tickets that are cards?

The "paper" tickets are the standard ticket media at WDW, and used by anyone who doesn't have their tickets on their KTTW cards, like Annual Passholders or non-resort guests. They work just the same in the turnstiles and Fastpass kiosks - slide it in just like you would a KTTW card.

The aren't actually paper. They look and feel more like thin cardboard, and are actually made of Tyvek - the same stuff they use as a moisture barrier on houses. They are pretty durable (very tough to tear), and they are much cheaper to produce than the plastic credit-card style cards. With reasonable care you should have no problems, and even if you do, bring it to any ticket booth and they can quickly issue you another one.

Just to add to the previous answer, you'll be able to get Fastpasses with them.

My DS12 did the Animation class last Oct. I thought the class was well done. Our instructor was very enthusiastic and knowledgable. If you ask my DS, he would say it was just OK. However, he wasn't feeling well that day (ended up at urgent care that evening and turned out he had strep throat). I think if he wasn't sick he would have enjoyed it more. I will say, he does want to do another class when we go in Aug. so it must have not been too horrible for him.;)

I have a questions for the veteran YES ticket users. We are going to the Photography class on June 26 and are staying at the Boardwalk. I was wondering if we would be able to use the International Gateway entrance to go to the class that starts at 8:30am. Does anyone know this answer? I am not sure what time that entrance opens since World Showcase opens later in the day. The class meets at the front of the park by the ticket window, I believe.

Is anyone else in this class?

Not in that class, but we do have another class booked that meets out there.

My experience has been that they will not let you into the park at the IG if you are supposed to be meeting outside the front entrance for a tour. You need to find transportation to the front of the park. One possibility is to walk to DHS instead, and take the "park to park" bus from there to Epcot, which goes to the front, but you are subject to their schedule. It should operate early enough, but I'm not 100% sure of that.

We will have a car, so I will drop of DW and DD#1 at the front and then go back to the resort.

I read here on the DIS somewhere (can't recall if it was this thread or not) that you cannot enter through the IG. We will be facing the same situation in September. I'm pretty sure we're going to have to take a taxi to the front entrance.

Just signed DD up for the Animation Magic class. WOW, what a savings in park tickets (bought an 8 day Premium for our family of 5). We usually have No Exp tickets so when we go to the parks...WE GO TO THE PARKS....as in commando all day. I'm actualy looking forward to coming and going as we please.

Thanks for all the help here, what a great resource!
