Disney Y.E.S. Program

thanks tzolkin

not the news I was hoping for but good to know. Guess we'll have to wait until we have a year when we don't have APs!

FYI, my experience ordering the tickets/class today, as the web site is a bit confusing...once you select which class, you are take to a screen to enter student's first names and ages, and adults first and last names. There is a section on terms above, and you had to click on the checkbox to say you understood them. But it wasn't clear to me if I needed to enter all our names, or just the child and chaparone. I entered them all.

On the next screen is another screen listing terms and another checkbox, but that screen was the most confusing - it didn't really tell me what I needed to do next, it only talked about needing a chaparone if...etc. Below there were four checkboxes, with each our names. I figured it must be asking me who is attending the class, so I selected DD#1. It rejected it because I needed to select an adult as well, and so I selected DW as well.

At that point I was taken to the actual ticket selection screen, where I could select any of the tickets, and a pulldown for how many. It did not differentiate adult from child, and I don't know if I needed to enter all our names in the earlier screen, but it let me pick 4 tickets, no problem.

I booked today too. I enter all 4 names in our party, then just checked the adult and child who are taking the class on the next page. if you don't put down the names of everyone in your party, I don't think you will get the correct amount if tickets when you are confirmed 2 weeks from your class date.

Tickets will all say Youth because they are purchased through the Youth program but they are good for all ages.

That I knew, I was more referring to the fact that I didn't have to say how many for adults and how many for children, even though I knew there were certain limits (two adults if only one child registered, etc.)

So excited, just bought our 8day plus YES tickets and enrolled DD8 in the Sept 14 animation class at DHS :cool1:

My DD is looking forward to the class!

We wil be at Disney the week of 6-10 and sadly all the classes are full that my DS 14 can take. I'm always a day late and a dollar short. Will they add any classes or is it worth my time to check daily for something to open up? Not sure of the process and any help would be appreciated. :)

I also had the same question and the same situation. We will be there in June 10-17 and they are all filled. Also a day late and a dollar short as well :rotfl:. I actually emailed them to ask if there would be additional classes added. It is probably not possible, but it didnt hurt to ask.:confused3

I will make sure to update you as soon as they respond.

I am looking at one of the following 3 classes for my ds12.

Animation Magic

Making Waves with a Marine Career

Wild by Nature

Can anyone share their experiences with me on any of these? We are leaning towards the marine career but would like to know any specifics about the others that would sway our decision. I'm guessing animation magic takes place in DHS? Marine at epcot and wild at AK.

I chose Marine Careers over Wild by Nature for the following reason:We're going in August. Animal Kingdom can be brutally hot, and I imagine the class is all outside.

When we go as a family, we can opt to stop inside for a show or a break, but that's not a possibility as a class. So I figured Marine Careers would make more sense.

Plus, this leaves the last day of our vacation up to us.

Thanks that makes sense. I was kind of thinking about the 2 classes:

Marine career vs animation magic. Just wish there was more information about these then the short description on the YES website.

I have a few questions:

1. We are staying at POFQ, do we just have them call us a cab or what other options do we have if no car if class at 7:15am at MK?

2. We are flying in the day before. Can the tickets be picked up at DD anywhere?

3. DH wants to go too and we have a 12 and a 15 year old. I know one of us can automatically participate w/ our 12 yo DD, but can we sign up 15 year old DD and DH together separately (if that makes sense) and he can participate as well?

I read this thread but was not 100% clear on those items.
TIA! :)

I called so I am going to answer my own questions. Lol!
They said to check w. Bell Services when we check in to see how long to allow for calling a cab and getting to the TTC.

The tickets can be picked up at any ticket office at the parks and one place at DD at Disney Quest.

We were successful registering separately so we will each take a kid. I had been watching this particular class for over a week and it did not fill up so I was pretty confident it would not fill up while I was registering. Only slight hiccup was I had to wait 30 mins before it would allow a separate transaction with the same credit card.

For those of you who want more info on programs, have you seen the PDF files that give more info?

If you go here
http://www.disneyyouth.com/individual-enrollment/catalog/

and put in your dates and park, find your program, click on Learn More and then Learning Points, you can see some info. Then click on Description and choose

Click here to download the printer-friendly Program Description,

and you will see more details. Hope this is helpful.

Thanks S'sMom!!!! Maybe we'll have some pixie dust showered upon us! Never hurts to hope does it!!!!!! :)

We are going August 19-August 29. My daughter turns 5 on the 22 of August and the class is the 20th. Is there any way she can take the class. She would love it and is very advanced for her age.

Everything I have read says they are very strict about the age requirements, but I have not seen anywhere that I need to bring proof of age/birth certificates. Do I?

I would call to ask about that close of a birthdate.

Also, just wanted to say I will be at that class with my two younger kids (DS6 and DD8). So if you do wind up signing up, I will see you there. :upsidedow

Well, you have to put the age on the registration page, so you would basically have to lie. They are very strict about the ages.

I think I would call if I were you, Erin. You're talking about your DD being only 1 week away from the stated age! Good Luck!!!!:thumbsup2

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeell, we pulled the trigger. We really didn't want to even tell the kids about the trip yet. But, we did want to make sure this was something they wanted to do & to get our 11-year-old DD in a class she wanted. Thankfully, her #1 choice was available. Our original Disney plan was a 2-day ticket with WP option. We're now at a 4-day premium with WP and park hopper for $125 LESS than the original plan. I had figured on the 3-day, but the 4th day was just $8 more and we couldn't resist :rotfl: Thank you all so much for all the tips in this thread!! :thumbsup2
