Hi,

I'm going to DW in September for a friends wedding but unfortunately I have difficulties standing and walking. I am considering renting a wheelchair but want to know whether the Disney ones are are self-propelled or need to be pushed by someone (or both)?

Hi and :welcome: to both DisBoards and disABILITIES!

If you click on where it says "disABILTIES" at the top of this page it will take you to the Index. One of the top items is the "disABILTIES FAQ" which will gives lots of useful information, including in Post #2 for people with mobility/stamina issues.

Or, if you want an easier route to the FAQs, click on the link in my signature.

The information Cheshire Figment posted will help answer your question and help you find where to rent ECVs and wheelchairs.

WDW parks rent manual (push) wheelchairs and also ECVs, which are powered mobility scooters. There is a picture of the park rental ECVs on post 2 of the disABILITIES FAQs thread.
Many people choose to rent an ECV from an off site rental place because they are smaller, more manouverable and if you rent from off site, you can also use it at your resort.

Hi, thanks for the quick replies. There's certainly a wealth of information there.
It seems most people opt for an ECV over a wheelchair as well.

Kind regards

Rosh
