Hi everyone! I have been to Disneyland hundreds of times (born, raised, and live less than 10 miles away) and have had Annual Passes over the years (but too expensive now :( ).

So, I am finally going to Disney World in December! We are two adults who love the "E" ticket rides and of course we will hit our favorites (ToT, SM, SM, BTMRR, PoTC, HM). I was wondering which of the rides that both parks have should be visited? Which ones are significantly different? Which ones will I kick myself for not experiencing?

For example, we do not tend to visit Fantasyland very often unless there are no lines as they are not thrilling to us and we have been on them more than enough times. However, I always loved Mr. Toad and Peter Pan, so are they significantly different?

I searched for a thread similar to this, but did not find one. If there is one, please let me know. Thanks everyone!

Welcome!

At WDW, there is no Mr. toad or show white, or Pinocchio. Peter Pan is similar, if not the same. Splash Mountain is similar, and some say a little better at WDW. POTC is drastically shorter at WDW... You may be disappointed after DLR. Thunder mountain is pretty similar. Buzz is better at DLR--you can remove the guns there. Space Mountain is a little different.

What else...TSMM is, I believe, the same ride. Kali River Rapids in Animal Kingdom is similar to Grizzly River Run. Soarin is exactly the same. Dinosaur in AK is the same track as Indy. Tower of Terror is similar but better at WDW. HM is also very similar--maybe exactly the same; I can't recall. I'm sure someone here will know!

Fantasmic is a little different--definitely see it. All the nighttime shows at WDW are spectacular.

I would say its worth riding everything for sure--but just know you will probably be let down at WDW's POTC. Have fun!!!

Thank you! Thought I saw Toad. Oh well..
Forgot about Star Tours, doh!! Same, different, better?

Is PoTC all movied up in WDW or is it traditional?

Very excited about the TTA People Mover (it was simply the Peoplemover to us)!! Does it have the old school Tron section? How does the CBJ compare to be old DLR one?

Forgot to mention that we are staying on site at CBR. Interesting Fast Pass system at WDW compared to DLR!!

Ok IMO TOT is better at DCA, HM is better at DL as are Indy (compared to Dinosaur), Space and PoTC.
As PP mentioned BTMRR is much of a muchness.

F! is better at DL but I prefer the stadium seating set up at DHS.

Fantasyland-worth walking around at least to see the beasts castle. Peter Pan is better at DL but MK has FP for it (yay). You of course have the new Enchanted tales with Belle (Ariel's is the same as DCA).
Dumbo is doubled (but ride is the same) play area inside the big top is cute.
Teacups at DL are better (cuter being without a roof), ITASW also better at DL.

EE at AK is well worth the ride as is RnRC at DHS.
RSR beats TT but TT different enough to still be exciting. Soarin is the same.

Thanks for the link to the comparisons (can't quote yet). Very helpful. I spent a long time reading through it!

Is there a place to learn about the quirky things to look for?
Examples: Mr. Limpit hiding in Little Mermaid? Flying fish? The old giant chocolate chip cookie in SM? Old snoring bears? That sort of interesting thing to look for?

I have to say that most rides that are in both parks, I prefer the DLR versions! :rotfl2: Minus Splash.

Splash has some differences, I find WDW's to move slower so you can actually see some of the stuff, in WDW it's among my favourites, in DLR, not so much.

POTC is shorter, not as much going on, but still good, HM is pretty much the same, just the exterior/queue is different.

WTP is again, pretty much the same, some of the paint jobs in the ride are different, but that's about it.

ToT in WDW is better IMO, the drop sequences are always random so you never really know what's coming and that's just awesome!

Thanks Katt789. Some of the cues like HM and ToT are the best!! At DLR the wait for HM has always been minimal for us so the experience is often missed. My fave was always the pet cemetary but that out of the cue now.

Thanks for the info. I really appreciate it!!
