Disney World planning 2,000 unit cartoon-based resort

I think you easily could, except no EMH. The parking is not free, no .. but at $14 per day would stil add up to less than what you are paying for the Diz perks. Many folks do it, and we do sometimes as well. But some of us have done both and found cheaper to stay off site means more trips, and some of the "perks" you get can be a drag (like waiting 20 min for a bus on a reg basis when you could hop right into your rental van). You could easily get a full house with full kitchen, hot tub, pool, game room, wi-fi, and the works for $600 for a week plus cleaning fee. If you stack some codes on rental cars or use priceline, no problem getting cheap driving.

Our big group would much rather stay on site. To us its a drag to have to drive to the parks, have to come and go to the parks at the same time and have to cook our meals. We really enjoy the magic of onsite, the themeing and ease. We have never had any difficulty with busses. Also, you usually have to take a tram or a boat or a monorail to get to your car. I just think it depends on your family and what vacation is to you!! Its all good!!!! We all love Disney!!!:lovestruc:wizard:

So $600.00 for on-site condo
$1,325.00 for 7 day hoppers from Undercover Tourist
$98.00 parking
$200.00 rental car
$200.00 per day food, so $1,400.00 (minimum, because I DO NOT cook on vacation and we do a lot of character meals.)

So about $3,625.00 for our family of six to stay off-site for 8 nights.

Um, I think I'll stick with going during free dining and staying on-site for about $2,900.00

I really do wish they'd kept the original POP theme though...POP is our fav and I would have loved to stay at the Legendary Years. Now the Generation Gap bridge makes little sense, nor does hourglass lake, Pop half century LOL
.

Exactly. POP (half) Century.
