I know this hasn’t been released yet and no one knows for sure, but I was wondering if anyone had a good guess of where the Disney Wonder would be in Fall 2025. I know in summer it will be in an Alaska (at least according to its history), but I didn’t know if also following it’s past sailing schedule, it would go back to Australia potentially

All signs point to it going back to Australia.

There have been unverifiable reports from onboard that crew members have been telling Aussie cruisers that a different ship will be sent down under for the 25/26 itinerary, with the Fantasy being specifically named.

But, who knows?

I was onboard and it was stated multiple times that the only Pacific options for Disney are the Magic and Wonder unless they send the Fantasy or Dream around the Cape of Good Hope, Cape Horn or through the Suez Canal. All options would be low demand and expensive transits.

Not sure why this would be. It has been confirmed that with the Panama Canal expansion, the Dream or Fantasy would be able to take that route (they will in fact fit under the Bridge of the Americas). DCL may still choose not to do this, but it is a viable option.

I would agree with the sentiment. But that was what was reported on board when I was there. The Norwegian Bliss has gone through the canal. The Dream and Fantasy cannot fit under Sydney Harbour Bridge and that was also mentioned as a consideration.

That certainly makes sense given the itineraries they’re doing on that side of the world. I also believe there would be more restrictions on a larger ship in Alaska, which is also part of their west coast travels.

It looks like the Fantasy is going to be in Europe for summer 2025. I can’t see them moving her to Australia for that winter, either it’s the TA plus Panama Canal plus Transpacific, or it’s a cruise through Suez Canal plus Asia.

Royal uses Anthem class which is bigger. Holland America uses the Koningsdam which is similar if a bit smaller.

At various points from 2025 Disney looks to be obligated to have four ships based in Florida. Treasure. Wish. Ship 8 and one of Fantasy or Dream. Adventure will be running Thailand and Bali cruises that will leave Dream/Fantasy plus Magic and Wonder to roam. For a few years for the later two anyways. I can’t see them having a service life beyond 30 years unless they undergo a massive retrofit.

If Fantasy was summer 2025 in Europe and the situation would allow a Suez and then Indian Ocean cruise to reposition would be possible but I think Disney would worry about filling the ship

Royal exclusively uses the Overseas Passenger Terminal (Circular Quay) in Sydney. DCL is using both the OPT and White Bay depending on availability, White Bay involves having to get under the Sydney Harbour Bridge. That's why there is the potential size limitation compared to Royal.

When will summer '25 schedule be released? I'm curious as which ship will be where. Particularly
Europe.

I should have been more clear that those ship comparisons where the Wonder vs what other lines use for Alaska. Sorry for the confusion.

I should add that a cruise line did recently move a ship that was not Panamax compliant through the Suez by using a couple few repositioning journeys from the Mediterranean through the Suez Canal, into the Persian Gulf, India and Southeast Asia before making it into the Pacific. But it took a lot of planning and the transit was well over a month and multiple cruises. How many Disney fans are going to want to do a Piraeus to Dubai, Dubai to Singapore or Singapore to Sydney? And with current 'Disboard not friendly' 'thing's going with with Suez and the Red Sea would Disney really want to take a risk in planning 2 years or more out to transit Suez or have the ship stuck in the Indian/Pacific Ocean for longer than intended. And I should also add that Disney is going to be dealing with the current headache of getting the Disney Adventure through the passage to get it to Singapore sometime in 2025.

The Dream and Fantasy are both much smaller than the Bliss though.
I don't think that applies height wise. The Dream and Fantasy have 16 decks with the Bliss and Encore having 18 decks. However they don't have the extended stacks that the Dream and Fantasy have which rise fairly high over the top most deck. I can't find any height dimensions listed for the NCL ships, The dimension drawing that was posted on a thread shows that the Dream and Fantasy would clear the Bridge of the Americas. They show the height at 217, but that is apparently from the bottom of the hull to top of stack. However I also thought there was talk that the stacks were raised a while back because of smoke issues. That was why I mentioned modifications earlier.

We'll all just have to patiently wait for DCL to let us know what they are doing.
