Disney Wonder September 3, 2012. Seattle to Vancouver 7 night Alaska Cruise!

Everyone's mileage can vary, but both my father and I have serious problems with motion sickness, and neither one of us took any medication or got sick at all on our cruise last year.

I hope my husband and I can be the same. We both have problems with vertigo. BTW I hope to see Mr. Meller do some origami while we are on board.

Question about the FE... If people end up with an upgrade at the port or for some other reason change rooms, how will the FE group know?

Let me think this through and I'll update everyone soon

I have a question for anyone who might know the answer to this. Why do I sometimes get an email when a post is made to this thread and sometimes I don't? What criteria does this program use to determine what gets sent and what doesn't? I thought I was receiving everything but I was not alerted to most of what was posted today. I think I might have to go back and read up on what else I might have missed. Darn. There's too much good info on here to miss stuff.

Once you get an email notification you have to visit the thread before you will get another notification. That's how it's supposed to work. Sometimes it doesn't always work though ...

Do you have to post or just open the thread? Does it have to be from the link in an email or can you just launch with the URL address?

I usually just go through the link in the email ... However I believe it also works as long as you just visit the thread and are logged in

I have the email notification off, because I can't stand a full inbox ;) but I just bookmarked this thread and check it. Also now I am using the new DIS app, so I get a notification on my iPad.

As far as changing room numbers, I know I will have to update mine as I am till unassigned GTY. I wonder if we can just let people know if anyone gets an upgrade at the meet? Or if you get an upgrade, do your FE gifts first thing and leave a note with your new room number?

BTW I hope to see Mr. Mellers do some origami while we are on board.

Without doubt! If you're at the port early (we plan to be there around 10 a.m.), just look for a curly brown-and-grey haired woman in a mobility scooter, accompanied by two active seniors, an Asian gentleman (Mr. Mellers), and a multiracial teenager (Mellerskidlet). We're easy to spot. If Mr. Mellers is not folding origami at that moment, wait 5 minutes. It's a constant habit.

For our last cruise, the person organizing the FE gave everyone her cell number and her room number. At our meet-up the first day on the ship, she passed out a handwritten list of changes on little pieces of paper. I had the FE list printed, so I went back to the room and changed the numbers that needed to be changed.

I too have email notifications off. i just check this thread once a day or whenever I'm bored :cool1:

Welcome back to the board fellow Coloradan! I think we were on the same cruise in May to the Bahamas! I can't wait to see Alaska!

Thanks Jen, and yes, we were on the same cruise in May. My DD and I had a great time, we just ended up spending a lot of quality mother/daughter time together! My DH and I may have to try to get to the meet for this cruise. We have had good luck in the past. Maybe we'll finally get to meet you, crazy that we are probably just a few miles from each other.

I have gotten some great ideas (thanks mellers) and am working on a plan for a meet up and what to do about room changes (upgrades at port) for the FE. Give me 48 hours and I'll have it all set up for you guys ...

Welcome aboard! I just love that we're getting more people! :cool1:

Thanks.
Like everyone else I am in the process of getting all my FE ready and planing all my port activities. I have not even gone to Alaska yet and I am already planning my next Alaskan cruise. There so much to see and do.

Oh my, I also found that trip report the other day and read it all. LOL Such a great attitude, really!
