We're on the boat! I'm joining the thread :)
I'm Erica, my husband is Lionel, and this will be our second time on the Wonder. We're hoping for a trip on the Magic next year! Can't wait.....why can't they just rent out apartments on the ships?

I was hoping you would find your way over here! :welcome:

Hi everyone! My Dsis and I will be traveling with y'all! We can't wait!

I have been lurking on here since February (my husband left me in late January and what was my response to that? Book a Disney cruise! It'll be good therapy I am hoping - and its something he NEVER wanted to do! :furious: )

Well I finally can post now because we're done goin through the Big D (and I don't mean Dallas) and the cruise is all paid for so nothin can stop us now :woohoo: -- well except for Mother Nature but I'm crossin my fingers on that one.

This is my first cruise ever and my sis's first Disney Cruise. I told her I was kidnapping her and taking her on a cruise for her b'day and she nearly pee'd her pants. We are both VERY excited :yay:
Anywho, we're both in our 30's, not married, and no kids .... so not a whole lot in common with all you family folk, but we do share a love for a very special Mouse so we have that at least...

Well, better stop blabbing. Just wanted to officially say Hello :wave2: and can't wait to get cruisin!

You have my sympathy and congratulations! :welcome:

I too went through the Big D (for almost 2 years. SC in very conservative) and booked a Disney cruise because I was never "allowed" too. Glad to have you on board. All us "family folks" are not your stereotypical boring, go to bed at 9pm kind of folks! I am hoping to convince some of the group to do an "adults only" meet in Wavebands on 80's night. I love 80's music. Ahhh, the memories :rolleyes1

So, who's with me? I'll be the wild-child shaking my money maker on the dance floor... :rotfl2: :dancer:

Okay, not that it actually means anything to anyone outside my profession but I have to share. For the last 4 months I have been preparing and studying for my national certification, Professional in Human Resources. I took the test this morning and I passed!!! So now I get to put PHR after my name. It's kind of like CPA. The test isn't in 4 parts but is essentailly the exact same concept.

Tomorrow is DS 7th birthday party (it's a pool party. Pray there is no rain) and he goes on July 1st to St. Louis to see his Dad for 5 weeks.

Summer is flying by. I still need to make the t-shirts. Are we still doing the treasure map design? :confused3 AND I have to decide if I am making Door Signs. I do not have a creative bone in my body (way too analytical) so I probably won't. I may buy the paint chips and do something really small but that is probably it.

Ditto!
DH and I have a love of Disney, he is a former cast member. We're both early 30's, no kids, and LOVE the boat. You will find us at the pool with a frosty beverage in hand when we are not at the spa or the Cove Cafe :teeth:

Welcome!

CONGRATULATIONS!! That represents a lot of hard work! How will this change what you do on a daily basis? More money? Different job?

Give the paint chips, photos of you and DS, any Disney Stickers you have, the coloring pages downloadable from DCL, a DCL Cruise booklet from a travel agent and a colored folder like you put papers in the file drawer and scissors to DS and let him have at it.

Let him choose the items and layout. Let him letter it. Let him do the whole shebang.

You sit there an admire his determination, hair, eyes, presence (since you will be missing him for 5 weeks). Only help if he asks you to.

Let him glue it all on. Then together cover it with clear contact paper. Attach magnetic strips from a craft store (or glue advertising magnets from the dentist, oil change place, etc onto the back). Put it on the refrigerator to be sure you have enough magnet pieces on the back. Since it is a folder, it will fold in half and pack easily.

You can reassure DS that HIS SIGN will stay on the refrig for the duration of his 5 weeks away.

I have a pair of kids water shoes size 13-they are orange and purple.

Anyone need them?

Right now, it represents that I can retain info really well ;) :rotfl2:
Actually, I am currently being recruited by two different employers. It will help me drive up my asking price ;)

That's a great idea! Plus it will help get him excited. :thumbsup2

Congratulations! What an accomplishment, you must be so happy and relieved to have it over. No more studying, worrying, studying, reading, studying, did I happen to mention studying.... or are you one of those lucky people that can read somethin and then actually remember it for more than two seconds?

Well either way CONGRATS! and just think, now that you don't have to study for your exam you have even more time to plan for your cruise! woo hooo!

I honestly don't know why we chose the early seating...probably because Tammy has two little kids and it would work better for her. My kids are lucky if they eat dinner by 9 pm (when there's no school of course, otherwise DD6 really needs to get her tail into bed earlier than that!) We are night people to the end. During the summer, I can't get her to bed before 11....bad mom, I know. :rotfl2: I don't really mind though, when there's no school and she can sleep later in the a.m. She is on her teenage brothers' schedule. Who knows though, school will already have started for us (August 8th) :sad2: . Schedules will be different. Maybe the activities will wear my kids out so that DH and I have a little adult time. Now THAT would be something! :yay: :dance3: :hyper: :worship: (I can only hope! :rotfl: )

Thanks for all of the warm welcomes! :disrocks:

Just wanted to say sorry if I hurt anyone's feelings when I posted that you guys were all "family folk". I wasn't meaning anything negative by it. :guilty: Family's are :thumbsup2

I am quite envious of you guys who have kids and love hearing stories about them and their dance classes, bday parties and school outings, just don't have any cool stories of my own. But hey, most of my friends and cousins have lots of kids so I'm used to being the oddball 33 year old with no offspring :rotfl:

Ok going to quit now before I just dig my hole deeper, siiiigh. Nothin I say ever comes out right!

Anywho.... I wonder what I would have to do to get Disney to let me take my dog on board..... I'm sure she would LOVE to go swimming with Ginger in the Mickey pool, what you think Vicki?

Actually I think Luna would spend most of her time at the Beach Blanket Buffet.... :dog2:
