Vicki, we've seen Allegria and liked it, but I don't think we're going to see La Nouba this time. Cirque du Soleil is great, much better in person!

I've been trying to avoid going to Princesses on Ice, but my DD found out about it. I've already passed up the cheap tickets offered by her Girl Scout troop because I didn't think we would go. :furious:

Dawn G.

I agree. We saw Varekai and then watched the DVD. It is much better in person.

DD is going to be sooo excited!! She doesnt know how close we are.

We signed up for Netflix for two months. We should be getting Phantom of the Opera any time now. I am so excited! I'm going to be cranking up the surround sound WAAAAAAYY up!. The kids will run and hide b/c it'll be so loud.

I'm glad my going on and on actually helped. I tend to talk a bit much. Vicki, we're actually going to be staying at SSR the night before the cruise. We've never been on the tour, and I'm debating whether it's worth a try. I've been feeling deprived, but then again, what's the point after we've already bought? :confused3

Tae Ja, too funny, I was getting ready to post that link, too. But instead I've also got this one: dclwonderphotos.com/
It's got photos of pirate night, among other things.

And last but not least, someone posted a thread worrying about jellyfish stings, so I did a little research and came up with SafeSea, which is a sunblock and also prevents jellyfish stings. You can read more about it at ebodyboarding.com if you're interested.

I hope everyone's having a great weekend!

O.k., I had to get through the surfing lingo, but found the direct link to the SeaSafe sunblock Dawn is referring to in her post. I hope the $.9.99 price will still be there in Sept. I didn't want to mention the sea fleas/ jellyfish b/c I didn't want to scare any one. DH and I got bit (remeber there are hundreds/thousands of these little creatures floating almost invisibly). If the kids got bit it we didn't know about it. I think we (dh and I) put on our suncreeen too early while I put the kids sunscreen on when we got to CC. Maybe that's why my dkids didn't get bit. Not srue. Any way, thanks for the link Dawn. I'll be visiting the site closer to cruising time. BTW, the 9.99 price is very close or matches Avon's bug spray/sunscreen.

Also, you will want to pack Benadryl to help the physical relief of sunburns. DH got fried on CC and got heat stroke.

Here's a jellyfish thread. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1033243&highlight=benadryl

I just have to share! I was going through the clearance isles at our Super Walmart and found a tunic type shirt for $9.00. Its long enough on me (one advant. of being short), that I'm going to use it as my swimsuit cover up. I wanted to pick up a whole bunch for you ladies (minus NJBill) and bring 'em with me on the ship. But, practicality came to mind and I have no idea what sizes you all would be.

So, if you happen to be in Walmart and are looking for a cover up for the trip. Check out the clearance isle. :teeth:

I don't know about you guys, but I'm ready for it to be WARM!!
Brrr!!!!!!

Disneyshopping.go.com has a black Mickey cover-up and a white Eeyore one.

Have an awesome time! We saw Princesses on Ice a couple of years ago and it was wonderful! They had a meet and greet event with Belle before the show and I got some great pictures of my daughter with her. I wish we could see that show again! We've been to a couple of other Disney on Ice shows but I think the Princesses were the best! princess:

Dawn, this is kind of random but I had a question.
Someone offered to rent me some DVC points for an OKW Studio in December.
We've talked a little bit and she said it would work in the way that I would pay her ($600!) and THEN she would give me the confirmation number and transfer the reservatio to my name.
I guess I'm just curious if you know enough about DVC to know if this is common/what I can do to know I'm not going to get taken..
Just a little apprehensive but so far this is going to be the best deal to get my brother and I there!

*edit*
I've been emailing the person all day and she has offered to sell the reservation through to me with Paypal, which makes me feel a lot better. She also offered something in writing, so I'm not as apprehensive anymore.
I guess I got my own question answered!

But do you know about adding the dining plan to a DVC reservation? We want this, most definitely, but if I go this route part of the benefit would be getting tickets from my cousin who is a CM!
That would make the entire trip about 400 cheaper staying in a nicer resort, which is okay with me!

Patsy, it's more normal to pay a portion of the reservation in advance, with the full amount paid when the renter receives the confirmation letter. Member Services will mail a confirmation to the DVC member, and they usually send that info to you. However, if they offered to do a contract, that's pretty good--it gives both of you some reassurance. (Like any contract, be sure to read the fine print. :teeth: ) It's kind of like buying off of eBay--if you can get some feedback, it's better, but it's always a risk when you pay money to someone you don't know. OKW members can book 11 months before their stay, but no one else can book there until 7 months, so you've got a bit of leeway. If you're going to do it, the longer you wait the harder it will be to get a room, because OKW can be some of the hardest rooms to get--because the rooms are larger, and the points are lowest. In May, *every* DVC member will be able to make reservations there. DVC members are allowed to make reservations for friends and family, but *technically* it's against the rules for them to accept money for the use of their points, just so you know. Everybody does it, but it's probably wiser not to let DVC know that you paid for the use of these points.

As far as I know, you are considered "the same as" the DVC member during your stay, so there should be no problem getting the dining plan. Once you receive the confirmation number, you can call Member Services directly (oops, apparently I can't post that number) and tell them you want the dining plan. Make *sure* to call before your stay, because it has to be added before you arrive.

If it saves you money, fantastic! It's a great way to get to know DVC before you buy.

Look at these cute clip arts I found on the www last night

I put Tim's name on the bottom of the siggy pic in my signature line. I've gotten so many compliments on it that Tim's name really belonged some where. Sorry Tim that its taken me so long to give you the credit due for your fantastic work. I'm buttering you up since crusie time is getting closer and there may be some final alterations for our group design. I hope you are planning on cruising with us so you can get more compliments while on oboard the Wonder! Hint hint!

Thanks!! We have seen a couple of them too and DD really liked it. When I saw this time it was the princesses I told DH he had to get front row seats. DD is going to to sooo excited!!!!
I also have jury duty that day and with my luck, I will be surquestered(sp?). I am not a happy camper!! :furious: What really gets me is they are going to pay me 9.00 for tomorrow. Not to brag or anything but I make more than that in an hour! When that Judge thanks us for coming it is going to be all I can do to NOT stand up and say what choice do we have-show up or go to JAIL.

Thanks so much Dawn :)

*edited to add*..

My dad offered to front money to my brother and I to rent DVC points from someone for a Studio at OKW Dec 17-22... ($600)...
Looks like, if I can figure out how to make sure this is legit!, I'll be back in Disney with my brother before he goes to Grad School (Most likely in Australia :( )

*edited again*
I'm going crazy!
Someone offered me Dec 17-23rd at 671 so I think we're going to take that if there is availability. Sooo excited, can't wait to hear from this lady tomorrow!
