O.k., I need a refresher...assuming every thing goes smoothly. When might we be able to enter the terminal? When might we be able to board? The fire drill is at about 4:ish right? There's staggered boarding times now right? Augh, I don't want to start freaking out! Oh right, I freaked out a long time ago. :sad2:

From what I gather Terminal opens at 10am boarding around 1pm, safety drill 4:30pm, Sail away party 5pm. I think they are taggering boarding time-you get a number 1, 2, 3, etc. and when they call those numbers anyone with them can board.

Wow. If the terminal opens at 10am and the first boarding isn't until 1pm, what do the people who get there early do? I can't imagine that check-in will take three hours! Is the terminal a very interesting place?

Tae Ja--I've got first seating, too. Boy, I hope that's not too early for us. We're in MST, so we'll be eating at essentially 3-4pm for us.

I hope I'm not being too stuck-up here, but I thought maybe someone might be interested in an idea for an easy no-sew pirate costume? When my son was a pirate in a play, we took one of the many pairs of jeans that he had worn the knee out of, and cut the bottoms to make them ragged. Just kind of jagged ends, you know? Then we bought a bright shirt with horizontal stripes--I think we got green, though my first inclination was red. We just got it at Wal-mart, it was a normal t-shirt type shirt, with narrow green and white horizontal strips. Then we added a bandana and he was set. Don't they hand out bandanas at dinner on pirate night? After the play, we cut off the ragged ends of our son's jeans and he had a pair of cutoff shorts. To the base costume you can add striped socks, a sash around the waist, a vest, or just about anything that occurs to you.

I don't know if anyone's looking for Tinkerbell costumes, but disneyoutlet.com has a Tink dress-up set on sale for 14.99 right now. It says 3+, and in my experience that means that it will only barely fit my 7 yo.

I'm leaning towards the idea of meeting in the terminal prior to boarding. I don't know how crazy that will be, but there will be some time where I'll have anxious energy before boarding. This is what I remember....we got to the terminal, DH pulled to the front and the porter took our luggage while me and the kids got out. We then took our carry ons through the luggage scanner and went up the escelator. We were greeted by a DCL staff memeber asking to see our pre filled out paperwork and our ids. We then went to a reservation type desk and they again looked at our id's and then that was it. We got into line. While we waited Captain Mickey came out (and I think other characters came out too). There's a model of the Wonder (I hope that's right) in the middle of the huge lobby. By the restrooms there's several televisions showing movies or maybe even the Disney channel (I didn't look at the t.v.).

With the staggered boarding I don't know if there are areas of the lobby you are assigned to or what. We could always meet in the middle or by the t.v.'s.

Kerry where are you???? We need you!!!!!

I love the floor of the dCL terminal Its granite (or some thing w/ shiny flecks) and there are beige cutouts (of the same material) of CC, FL, and the bahama islands printed in gold. Soooo, pretty.

Hmm...I'll try and find threads about the new boarding procedure. Better yet, do any of you have saved threads regarding the matter?

Arrgggg pirate: My son would love to be a pirate. I was thinking of taking a white t-shirt and shredding the bottom and the arms. I look forward to getting the Cruisin' Goodie bag having the eye patch and the other items on the list will enhance his pirate appearance. I believe DCL is still passing out the red bandanas (if you are dining at Parrot Cove (is that the name?...Forgive me, I'm tired.)). Not sure about the girls, they may wear their princess costumes every evening.

I'm starting to look for cruise wear. How do I look on the internet for a swimsuit cover up? Is it even called that any more? Are there any other names for the same term? I know my MIL has a saraong for over her swimsuit. Help me out here ladies.

Well, I hope I didn't bore you with my long post. I really look forward to meeting you all.

I hope you don't mind me not going back over my post for grammer and possible spelling errors. If any thing, I'll go back over this post tomorrow.

:wave2:

I like the terminal idea! I like meeting by the TV's, then the kiddos can watch that while we talk. What do you do at a DIS meet, anyway?

My daughter is wavering between having a pirate costume and getting a Tink costume. I would think that Tink is an easy one to get my hands on, though, so I might just give in and do both. (My husband is going to freak.)

I've seen the cover-ups listed as just that. You can also try looking under sarong. They're usually not too hard to find if you do a search for swimwear, they tend to be listed with the swim suits.

The third edition of the Passporter's Field Guide to the Disney Cruise Line is on sale at passporterstore.com! 50% off the list price, so it's $9.48, plus shipping and handling. The reason for this sale is that the fourth edition will be out later this year--however, the information in this edition was updated August 2005, which is good enough for me. :thumbsup2 While I was at it, I ordered the new release of the WDW Passporter, which was 15% off the list price. Yay!

Or, if you don't mind waiting for the fourth edition, you can order from Amazon.com, which also has some really good discounts. If I had ordered the WDW Passporter and pre-ordered the fourth edition DCL Passporter from Amazon, the total with shipping would have been within a dollar of what I paid. Not too shabby!

I like the terminal meet idea too!
We will be leaving POR around 9 and it's an hour drive so we should be ther by 10am!
I dont know if DD is going to bring her princess costumes, I think she said she was.

Call me crazy but We are planning next years vacation!!!
Unfortunately it isnt a Disney Vacation but I can not wait!!!!
We are planning to go to Yellowstone National Park! We also looked into how we are going to get there and it looks like driving is going to be the cheapest! 29 hours but I cant wait!!!!

O.k., I know who I'm going to PMing for questions! Dawn, what are your customer service hours? :thumbsup2

I love the idea of meeting in the terminal. How about at 11:00am? I vote for it being near the TV's or the Wonder/Magic model.

My understanding is they never start boarding prior to 12noon. I will be arriving at the terminal between 10-10:30am. Me and the two kids will have whatever t-shirt we decided to make on so I should be easy to spot given I am 5'11" and wearing a bright lime t-shirt :rotfl2: I might be able to convince my mom to wear a shirt and she is like my twin so I doubt you would have a hard time spotting us. :hyper:

NJBill: The other night while watching the weather channel, the guy made some comment about the el nina in the pacific and how that is an indicator of hurricane season and that we may have another bad year??? :crazy2: :scared:  Talk to me Bill. I just don't know if I can take another bad season!!!

As for the rest of the meets, I thought we could plan one in the Studio Sea one night with the kids and maybe another in one of the lounges for the adults. Your thoughts???

Thanks, Dawn..
I ordered them :) :) (WDW and preordered the new Cruise one-- Amazon)

Just be like youself (a mom) and lay out your mom's green shirt and her other clothes the night before. Calmly tell her, I think you'd look great in this. She'll never know if you don't tell her that we'll all be wearning similar shirts until she gets to the terminal. ;) Sneaky huh?

I'm not sure about having more than one meet. I don't want to discourage you, either. Advantage, having more than one meet will give others opp. to meet. Disadvant. not enough people. There's just so much going on on the ship in the 4 day time frame that will make meeting difficult. I'm all for it; But, I'll do my best to attend each meet. :teleport:

O.k., meeting #1 at the termial for sure by the T.V's that way we will be out of the way. We wouldn't want to push the mouse around out the center of the lobby. :rotfl2: 11am should work for us. We'll be staying near Orlando Dr. and it will take us only an hr. to get to the port if that.

Hurricanes a coming (isn't that in Little Mermaid?)! Yep, h.season is predicted to be in full swing again this year. I hope we will have smooth sailing and no funny business before or after we board the Wonder.

If its o.k. with every one, once the cruise gets closer I'll ask if you'd like to be part of a detailed cruisers list. The list would have our names, cabin numbers, the kids, and others names. The list would only be distributed )via e-mail) to those who submitted their names to me. Just another piece of info to store in the back of your minds.

I really don't want to think about a beach cover up right now. I'm not even ready to get into a swim suit.
We're getting a new printer! DH is picking it up on Saturday. I'm saving all the door sign/ and t-shirt designs I want to print out. I'm so excited!

Haha.. I've been looking at buying them and I just finally *YAY* Completely paid off my study abroad trip with a little bit left over.. so I thought I'd treat myself :)

I' just preordered the cruise one, though, so I won't get it until.. April, I think is when it said it was coming out... but I'll be sure to post any interesting info!

We don't have to have more than one meet. I just know that I will be doing those things and the more the merrier. As far as I am concerned you all are welcome to hang with me :cool2: Well, except when Kevin & I are getting Couples massages at Serenity Bay. I would have to kick you to the curb then :duck:

As for beach wear, I am very excited!!!! I have a condition called hypotrophic scarring and I have had some surgeries that ended up with bad scars. Caused my bikini days to be a thing of the past. Well, my insurance is covering the plastic surgeon who is going to fix the really bad ones that keep growing. I will get to wear any kind of bathsuit I want this summer!!!! :cheer2: :woohoo: :thanks: So no coverups for me.

So, the official first meet will be in the terminal at 11:00am by the TV's. I will give out my cabin number so if you miss the first meet, you can always call. I will also schedule two other meets. I'm going to be there anyway :cutie:
I will post that info when it gets closer. Hoping Barb will give me some insight!

Check out this cool message Kerry sent me.

... I can have people share (tables) but if you want to just sit with your family and be in the area of the other DIS'ers you can do that too. From my conversation with the contact, she seemed to mention that she would put us in a "good area" implying at the time we would be near windows and get to pick our rotation possibly. ...

So, let us all sit near/around each other so we can have fantastic seating!
Wouldn't it be great to possibly choose our own dining rotation too?! :thumbsup2
