Thanks for asking. They walked in about an hour ago and had the best time. DD wants to do it again.suzannef said:Lori did your Dh and DD get home safely and have a good time?
suzannef said:I hope I didn't strike a nerve, but I figured it was probably something big like that and not an injury or you wouldn't be running. How awesome to have been so disciplined at something. I think it says alot about your character to have gone so far with it and now with running multiple marathons.. I wish more young people were so dedicated to something positive.

That's what happened to me I played soccer and swam and then quit it all. My metabolism slowed way down but I kept eating and I gained weight real fast. Now it is just a constant battle after having kids and everything.sugaswim said:oh no not at all. i love the sport with all my heart. i get so excited whenever i know it's going to be on tv. i follow results of big meets as much as i can. i actually grew up swimming with micheal phelps. so it's fun to watch him do well. i'm actually surprised that i managed to do it so long without getting an injury, especially since i was a butterflyer. i had a friend who got shoulder surgery who afterwards was told she could never swim competitively again.
haha yeah. i hope jobs look at that. since i was swimming so much i never really had a job. the only real job i had was after my freshman year of college, i worked at borders. so my resume looks kind of sad. so i put on there my swimming stuff so they could see all that. i mean cause it was like a job. i had to be there everyday, twice a day, from specific hours. and i did everything i could and gave it my all every single day.
i love being active. i've always been into sports. i played soccer for 2 seasons (fall and spring) before i started swimming. and to just stop and do nothing after being active for so long just isn't for me. and actually it's really bad for you too. i read an article a couple years ago about when athletes 'quit' they get really lazy. and even if they're not fat, they have really bad health problems. cholestoral sky rockets and stuff like that. it's crazy! i plan on being active until i can't move anymore![]()
I think that is something employers would be very interested in. It shows a huge level of dedication. I don't know about all this time you take off for cruises though lol
