We live in an apartment in NYC so space is always at a premium. So mostly I've gotten pins (and some magnets). I need to set up a corkboard/shadowbox to display them all, though.
Only things I really look at are the nicer clothing items. Tommy Bahama, Peter Millar, etc. More expensive but higher quality, and designs tend to have more subtle Disney touches rather than cartoony in-your-face stuff.
Disney used to have nicer, A-line Dress Shop dresses, and I have a few of them. But no more, it seems?
I just can’t say no to a Disney Dooney purse…
Lately, I have looked at Dooney and also
Loungefly. I have a clear Loungefly I keep in my owners' locker for park days. It makes the bag check much easier if I get pulled. I use another Loungefly at home as a regular purse and those get worn out pretty quickly. But I like to look for the "perfect" purse so I don't overdo it. We go at least once a year (more like 2-3, if I'm honest to myself) and I cannot store so many purses.
Ok, I had to look up Tervis cup to find out what it was, but like Christmas ornaments you can never have too many!
Great plan for the kids spending. We take the Grands every other year and something like that may make a lot of sense for them in the future. They are ages 2,4, 6, and 8 so will probably start with a much smaller amount. At what age did you start doing that?
Christmas ornaments are a newer thing, especially since we started going to the
MVMCP. I tend to be drawn to the fragile ones, though, which are sort of hard to pack and bring home. (Hubby and the kids did get some for me for Christmas)
When my kids were really little, we have them a little coin purse with pennies in it, and I would set the "price" they'd have to pay to chip in. It helped for them to handle and see the coins (and helped with counting) because a gift card was too abstract. And - I could moderate their purchases without actually saying "no" - "ohhh, that $100 princess dress? Yes, that's going to cost you ... 15 coins. Oh no! you only have 10? So sorry. Maybe next time ... "
This morphed to, "we will buy you 1 princess dress per trip so choose wisely" to giving them $100 on a gift card, so they could afford ONE dress plus some other small things, or they could get multiple other things...
It's funny the things that catch their eye.
