:rotfl: no and he was HOT!!!!! But he sent me the most beautiful white roses in the hospital and took me out about 2 months later. He was freaked out though because I was apparently the second girl he had a fist date scheduled with and the day of the date we were in an almost fatal car accident! So he couldn't date me. I was a curse. :confused3 Boys are so stupid some times!

I love how he thought YOU were the curse :rotfl:

Oh well, it was definitely his loss and i'm sure your current DBF is very happy with how things turned out :thumbsup2

:drinking: Here's to hoping that your DS is a smart little boy and will make the "right" choice in regards to where he wants to sleep on the ship.... :teeth:

:rotfl2: This is the exact reason I am NOT forcing the matching shirt issue with my sister. She may be younger than me, but she is definitely not my "little" sister, she is much taller and could just give me a little nudge and it woulld be "bye bye me...."

She would never REALLY do that, she is too sweet, and my best buddy.... then again, I haven't shown her the door signs yet....

Uh huh, I'm sure we're all traveling with someone who wouldn't mind giving us a nudge...(or vice versa  ) :lmao:

Who would want to push me overboard? princess: I am an angel :rolleyes1 :lmao:

Bill- you are too funny. I bet your wife has a great sense of humor too. :bride:

 psssst: I wonder how much insurance it is? If we help her-she might share. Then there will be $$$ for more Disney cruises :scratchin :beach:

I have a question hopefully you veteran cruisers can help me with....

When Vicki mentioned that she is a quick eater I was excited because I am a fast eater also and have been wondering how that works when you go to the dining rooms.

Do you sit around waiting for everyone at the table to finish their appetizers before salad comes.... wait for dessert etc. as a group or do they bring each person the next course as they individually finish. So would it be possible for my sister and I to finish our whole meal before say... the granny across the table who is chewing every bite of her steak 50 billion ever lovin' times because it aids in digestion..... or the guy who talks non-stop so he never actually eats anything..... :confused3

I know the meals are supposed to be "dining experiences" and you will probably chat with your table mates and make yourself slow down a little and actually enjoy the food, but sometimes it is hard for me to break that habit.

Anyway, I understand about being polite and waiting for everyone to get their plates of food before you start, but was just wondering if dinner really HAD to take three hours, or could you eat it in an hour and run on to the next "event" on the ship....

I'm fine either way, just like to know what to expect. I suppose if the custom was to wait for everyone then that would probably just give my tummy more time to settle so I can eat more.... "why yes I would like two desserts thank you very much..." :mickeybar

:rotfl: The moderators have a whole thread on here about not personally attacking anyone on the boards, but I don't remember anything about plotting someone's untimely demise... ummm I mean accident....

Just kiddin' Bill, we love ya!

:ssst: hmmmmm....do you think we're talkin' seven figures? That's ALOT of Mickey bars!

I can't answer your questions but I could offer some suggestions...Call DCL and request that your party be seated at a table by yourselves. That way you eat at the pace your family normally eats.

When you get on board you could go to the Dining table (look at the navigator on embark. day) Verify there that you are at a table by yourselves. If not ask again for a table by yourselves. If you have a party of 4 or more you might be in luck.

Now if you want to dine with others, I can't help you. However, you could always just ask your server to bring out whatever you are ready to eat next. they do work for tips so I'm sure they will accomodate. :thumbsup2

Thanks, Kerry. :teeth:

It is just my sister and I going so I probably won't try to request a private table. If I was with a larger group I probably would, but I think I will save the few two person tables there are for couples celebrating their anniversaries etc.

You have a good point that the servers are working for tips so I'm sure they will be accommodating. If we are on a tight schedule I will definitely let our head server know and hopefully they can help us to get out of there quickly.

We have the late seating and my biggest worry is on pirate night, I want to make sure to get done with dinner and get to deck 10 to get a good spot for the show. Although I am guessing that I will enjoy the show no matter where I am, but still....

I am probably just worrying about dumb stuff again, which I tend to do when I am going to be in a new situation.

Thanks for the info. It is always nice to know we have options...

This is a really stupid question, but...

I haven't flown in 8 years. This will be the third time in my life. I have no idea how to check in, what to expect, etc. I'm at the website reading about online check-in and boarding passes blah blah blah. None of it makes sense to me. I mean, is a boarding pass my ticket? Is it that electronic thing they sent me when I bought the tickets? I'm totally clueless.

Can anyone kind of walk me through what I should know? I was thinking that if someone could kind of tell me what to expect, it would be easier to understand. Can anyone maybe give me a blow-by-blow of the trip from the drop-off at the airport to the actual airplane? I'd be very grateful.

I am a reallly fast eater too so I'm sure we can all just gab away before, during and after the eating festivities have begun. :teeth:

Depending on the airline, they now have self-service check-in. You go up to the computer station, put in the required info (ie flight #, name, date of birth, number of checked bags etc) and out pops your boarding pass. Then an airline employee gets your luggage tags and calls your name. You bring your luggage up and they tag it and send it down.

Then you go through security. You show your pass and your id. You put all your stuff to be scanned on the conveyor belt and remove your shoes and put those on the belt as well. You walk through the metal detector. If all goes well there, you pick up all your stuff and then put back on your shoes.

Next you head to the gate. You show the ticket agent your boarding pass and then wait for your row to be called. When they call you, you give your boarding pass to the attendant and then you are on your way.

I personally like to stop on the way to the gate for a treat of some sort. Like Cinnabon or Starbucks. Depends on the airport.

Let me highly recommend being at the airport at least 1 hour and 30 minutes prior to departure. You are traveling on a holiday weekend

Also depending on the airline you can print your boarding pass at home. Then when you get to the airport do curbside check-in. Then off to security. Either way works good. Just leave enough time for security. They are not kidding about getting there early.

My family and friends are abandoning me in Nassau. We rented a room at Comfort Suites and they will do Atlantis all day. Myself and DD 4 are staying behind. I figured she can swim a little and then play in the club. Is anyone going shopping? I won't go by myself.

I have had my FIL since last Friday so I have not been on much. Have Fun!
