Disney Wonder Sept 3-7,2006 Part 2

Psht...says nothing about the two old ones. So what if we don't get new ships? At least I could cruise closer to home. I'm happy to report that I spent my dinner subverting another family to the Disney Cruise Line team. ;)

Wow, thats an optimistic outlook. I didn't even think about that!

Fingers crossed for you!

Erica, which one are you hoping to do? 2011, 2012?

Heidi- Where were you in Australia?

My brother is going to *finally* visit a friend who has been out there for YEARS.

I was in Queensland. In a town called Townsville...studying at James Cook University.:goodvibes So pretty there!!:goodvibes

Who did you fly?

I get to try to find him a flight. Wooho..

Well...it's a bit complicated the way I went out there and I kicked myself for doing it. I went through expedia and the most direct flight I could get it wouldn't let me book saying it couldn't get the price or something so I went and booked a 6-flight trip.:sad2: Never again will I be that stupid!! Of course I didn't want to take that route in the first place...but it was cheaper (although only be 100 which is NOT enough!) and I think it appealed to me because one of my stops was Honolulu.:rolleyes1

Anywho...my first 2 flights were US Airways (hate them, avoid them at all costs please!! lol), second 2 were Canadair, and last 2 were Qantas.

Coming back I had 4 flights. Townsville-Brisbane-Sydney-LAX-Dulles. I think both flights from Townsville and from Brisbane were Virgin Blue. They are the Australian airline that's made to be cheap. Then the flights out of Sydney and LAX were both booked through American Airlines, but the flight out of Sydney was actually a Qantas flight (they're partners with American Airlines). And let me tell you...I fell in love with Qantas. They pamper you!! A decent dinner, HOT CHOCOLATE!!, ice cream (well it was one of those dreamsicle bars, but still!!!), and free booze!! Plus (I would hope it's like this for all the Trans-Pacific flights) they have TVs in each of the heads of the seats in front of you and you get to pick what you want to watch (TV shows, movies, or play video games) and you can pause/stop and stuff!! Best flight ever!!:goodvibes
American Airlines was alright...but the LAX flight is about 4 and a half hours and they gave us nothing to eat...I think they might have given us soda but I could be wrong. That and AA charges $15 for your FIRST checked luggage now so I wouldn't recommend AA but I would recommend Qantas in a heartbeat!!!:goodvibes

Just let me know if you have anymore questions!!::yes::

TAE JA Again, sympathy and tears for you. So glad you sent me an e-mail.

PATSY you look lovely for your wedding!

I too did not know there was another thread. I think the other one is called part 5 because they broke the whole long thread up into 5 parts.

Our Panama Canal thread was closed and lost because it was so long and all the long ones were bogging down the speed of the Boards. It was gone for quite a while and finally is back but in segments if I recall correctly.

When they closed it down, someone started a part 2 and when that got to the magic number of pages which is about 250 a new thread was started by a member of the group and the first post was a copy of the previous first post so all the important contact and activity info was there. The mods would lock the old one and sometimes put a link but usually the person who started the new one made the link. I think it is now in Part 15.

I doubt if the mods will merge these threads because that will make it longer and that is what they are trying to avoid. The post over there by LCT'S MOM with the link to this one is probably the best bet. Maybe do that again as a last post and then as the mods to lock it.

Happy Friday to all,
Jan :earsgirl:

I jumped in at page 22 and because Tae Ja went back to page one and commented on so much I feel like I am getting into the swing of things anyway.

I reallys should be writing update reports on three of my kiddos but DISing is so much more fun.

Lovely ring Patsy!!:bride:

Tae Ja--thanks for using REPLY when you post so I get to see what you are commenting on.
As far as people and their advice, I think sitcoms and soap operas are partly to blame. In 30 minutes the problem is solved. Some main catch phrases are
"Get on with your life."
"I know how you feel." and
"I will make sure nothing bad every happens to you."
What stupid statements.

When I lost my Dad the best advice I got was
"Don't be surprised if it hits you when you don't expect it and you start crying." and
"If you didn't cry, it would mean that he didn't matter, and he did."

I also refuse to say "I know how you feel." Because there is no way anyone can do that unless they are living in your skin.

Hang in there Tae Ja and if I can help, give me a call, I'll come right over.

WOW!!

.....on a very odd note my brother just called me to tell me that he "dissed" Joey Fatone of N*Sync! (who is watching a movie at his theatre as we speak)

???:confused3 ????

We never heard of him before but Joey Fatone was on our cruise and sang some songs together with and alternatly with Alphonso Riberio (who we also never heard of). The Rockin' Bar D band was the back up. It was a very nice show--mostly Disney music. Both had cruised before with Disney and since they are friends and like to sing karekoe (?sp) Cruise Director Brent asked if they would perform together. Stroke of genius on his part I think.

I guess he lives in Orlando and goes to Greg's theatre a lot. He was at the concession and Greg was back in the storage unit when a new employee came back and told him to "Come outside calmy!" but wouldn't tell him why. He went out and I guess he got about a foot away from Joey when he went "Whats the big deal? Why'd I have to come out so calmy?" and went in the back.. not even noticing who it was but fears he offended him. :rotfl:
