Disney Wonder Sept 3-7,2006 Part 2

...I just found out someone I used to work with (we were friends but he moved an hour away when his parents bought him a franchise to manage) passed away last night. I've heard two things-- heart attack and that he just stopped breathing and was unable to be revived. He was 23. :(
Please keep his family in your thoughts! :sad1:

Aww Patsy I'm so sorry! 23 is waaayyy too young.:sad1:

We found out yesterday, it was the flu!

:(

So scary. Tom and I were reading articles earlier this year about people dying from the flu but never really imagined... So crazy to know Gage, who was CRAZY full of life (you couldn't be in the same mall with Gage and not know he was there!) is gone over something like the FLU!

The flu?! That really is scary.:guilty: His poor parents.:sad1:

Oh man. The visitation was the roughest thing.. It doesn't help that I am allergic to flowers and I swear this building was FULL of them. I've never seen anything like it.

His parents stood by the coffin and greeted us all-- his mom was crying, but she wanted to meet everyone and hear their stores. I barely made it five minutes without tearing up. I couldn't stand it. Tom wants to go back tomorrow, but man.. I don't know if I can hold it together through the services.

His mom has his AIM signed on saying "From Patrick's mom: Please keep sending the messages, they are very dear to me."

Now I'm crying all over again.

This is so strange. We lost a friend this week as well. He was 33. He had cancer. They called us on Wednesday to let us know he was home for a short hospice, and he passed away hours after Lionel visited on Thursday. It all just kind of happened without warning.

What a crappy week.

His service is today as well.

Sorry for your loss Patsy, I completely understand how you feel right now.

Yeh. I think part of the hard stuff for me was that Gage was FULL of life. He was the sort of fellow that you couldn't miss-- if you were in the same room as him, you knew-- he was ALWAYS the center of attention, so happy and boy was he loud! :rotfl:

It was tough, tough, tough to see him perfectly still, no color, eyes closed. I'm crying just thinking about it.

When they emptied everyone out of the room to close the casket, his parents were still in there. You could hear his mom sobbing and my heart just broke for her.. Gage is definitely NOT the sort of fellow you would ever expect to see quiet. :sad1: I know she'll probably never forget the way he looked-- I'm sure it was very hard for her to see her baby boy so still for the first time. :sad1: :sad1: :sad1:

Has she been around since the old thread closed? I can't remember....:confused3

The Biography channel. I missed the first hour but caught it when they were talking about his Club and River Phoenix. I read somewhere he bought a box of girlscout cookies, gave them a 100 bill and told them to keep the change. In the show a little girl no more than 5 ran up to him for his autography (she must have climbed under the barracade)and he signed it for her.

He sounds so nice! I'd love to meet him! :lovestruc

I sent an email to TaeJa. So far no response....:confused3

She's very busy but it sounds like all is well. Hopefully, she'll pop in to say hello soon.:dance3:
