Disney Wonder - October 14, 2012 - Hawaii

I am really pleased with the way the shirts turned out. Here is a picture of Bob modeling our groups shirt:

I'm loving the design of this fabric. The shirt turned out really well.

I did not see any mention of a discount book nor card required to be shown at check-in nor any other time. (This does not mean that it isn't required - it's just not mentioned on any of the pages I received.)

Thanks for all the Island and Hotel information Lynne. I've printed off the pages, ready for our planning event this weekend. Need to get flights and hotel booked.

Welcome aboard GOS, looking forward to meeting you.
Liesbeth, you mentioned a meet with little children on your list of activities. I think that would be great fun for those of us with kids, especially since the cruise will be during school and there may not be as many kids on board as a regular cruise. Speaking of which, how old are your sister's kids GOS?
Anyone else traveling with kids interested in getting them all together on the first day or so of the cruise?
Sherri

Hi All....just thought I'd pop in and say Hi.

I'll be joining you all in October, along with my sister, brother in law, and 2 neices from the UK

This will be my 10th cruise and my sister's familys first. My BIL and I will be celebrating our 50th birthday year and we can't wait. I booked the cruises last October and we've been planning our trip since then. I said I'd pop in and say hi and see what you've all been discussing since the thread opened.

Not sure if I'll be able to take part in the FE as luggage allowances from the UK are very limited. Interested in the postcard exchange and I love the material design for the shirts. I'll mention it to the others and let you know if we're in.

Need to now read on.

:welcome: on board, good to have more Brits sailing with us.

Hi Sherri - some details for you. This will be my 10th disney cruise, so next one will be Platinum :woohoo::woohoo:.

My niece Zoe (who is my sister's daughter) will be 17 when we cruise. She's hoping to be able to use the internet to download her homework/lessons as this cruise will be during school term time. My other niece (who is my other sisters daughter) has been out of school and working for many years and not sure she would be pleased if I tell you her age  This will be her 3rd cruise.

Here's a picture of Wendy and I from last October with some great friends of ours at EPCOT also DIS'ers.

Wendy is holding a cup kneeling down and I'm wearing a white cap.

Wow! I needed to catch up reading this thread.

My name is Jennifer and I will be sailing with my DD Emily (7).

Sherri - I would love to meet up so the kids could play. I know that is what my daughter will be begging me most. Who can I play with?

ppartekim - great list/website! We would like to be included for FE, postcard, lanyard, and shirts (2). We are GTY and Main seating.

I will be celebrating my birthday on October 25! Won't tell which one...:goodvibes

I can answer your questions about VGC and Aulani (DVC member at both). I can also answer questions about Disneyland and California Adventure (AP). Just don't ask me about hotels, I live 15 minutes away from the Disneyland Resort! :rotfl2:

Since I have done a lot of the touristy stuff in Hawaii, I was thinking about private tours to go off the beaten path. I don't think we will do any Disney excursions. I used my Hertz points to rent a car in each port so we can do our own thing. Maybe just hang on a beach all day?

Can't wait to set sail! This is our second cruise with DCL. :yay:

Hi, My name is Tracy. My husband and 2 boys will be sailing to Hawaii with you all. This will be our second Disney cruise ~ We are keeping it a secret from our boys (12 & 9) until we pull up to the ship!

We would like to be included in the FE's too.

Looking forward to getting to know you through the forum in the next 6 months and meeting you on the ship!

:thumbsup2:surfweb:

i saw the points required for the DVC add in..2 many points for us.. could do a WDW visit in 2012 too so I am gonna look for a DL hotel offsite for us to stay in for thurday, friday and saturday..

Welcome Tracy.
Jennifer, your daughter sounds just like mine. Since we're in SoCal too, maybe we could get together before the crusie. Perhaps at Disneyland or, if you ever visit our little island ...
We've already got a car reserved in Kauai and will probably do the same in Maui. We have friends who live on the big island and may connect with them. As for Oahu, I think we're just going to go to the Arizona Memorial and then Waikiki.
Our plans for Ensenada involve staying on the ship.

catislander - That would be awesome to meet up at Disneyland before the trip. We are planning to go next week (Wednesday) for Spring Break. Of course we will probably go several more times this summer, and into the fall. Love my premium AP!

:welcome: to you too

GOS - I was on the August 17 Repo cruise from LA to FL too.. nice to see you again..pirate: Dee was on that cruise too..

Lisbeth - I "know" you from the WBTA 2013 thread.. LOL small world.

ppartekim - has a great list..now we can start organizing.. lanyards, shirts,

we need DCL's help with Palo private room and linking dining. Once we are PIF we can start with the dining stuff.

The meet and greet..usually it is on the deck 10 during sail away or promenade lounge before the drill about 3ish. I can get HD LGMH for the lanyards. I think either works..

I am up for Champaign Girls meet.. I have done this on the Dream at pinks..where is the wonder one held??

Should I wait until the April cruise has gone, or ???

I work til 2 pm ish so i can make some calls, etc. What should I do first??

Since it is time to start the serious countdown to the cruise, I just put this new photo as the wallpaper on my computer. I took the photo last October on Castaway Cay. It was one of those throw-away shots that I didn't think would amount to much, but now the more I look at it the more I like it.

My sons (19 and 21) probably will get tired of the constant reminder on the computer that mom and dad are leaving them behind for two weeks this fall, but hey, college students need to learn that life isn't always fair, right?

I love the "moodiness" (is that a word?) of the picture. The dig billowy clouds ib the background make this shot dramatic.

LKShep - College students need to learn to get a job that can pay for their cruise! LOL. That is a cool pic, BTW.

:thumbsup2I am leaving my sons at the time will be age 20 ( sophmore in college) and 21 ( graduated college)..:thumbsup2
In fact, this is the 3rd DCL cruise we have taken without them:thumbsup2

Its defo a small world after all.

That was a really fun cruise and I would do it again.

First time on a Disney cruise. We booked in October but it seems to be coming up quick now! Just got back from Disney World on Wednesday celebrating DS turning 7.
We've now booked Thursday-Sunday prior to the cruise in Disneyland - first time. Myself, DH, DD 9, DS 7 and DD will be 4 when we cruise Hawaii! :cool1:
