Kris - I don't play an instrument either. Maybe we can call our band Studly Dave & the Talentless Two. Karen would make an awesome manager. We can all get matching tattoos with our logo in Mazatlan. Aah, who am I kidding Kris, with our man cards gone, we are much more likely to knit logo sweaters or start a quilt onboard. (You'll just die when you see my new pattern!)
LOL! Although I must admit that I don't care for the fact that you're giving Dave top billing just because he has talent and was named "Studliest Man of the Year" by his namesake magazine.
I haven't quilted before, but why not; the man card's already shot to hell anyways.
You may win with the foot bath; that's definitely unique to say the least. Reminds me of the footlocker we took on our honeymoon to carry all of our borrowed snorkel gear and then we ended up on a tour that provided the gear for us.

Kris - I have no idea how your name got into that post . . . friggin' weird! Maybe you should be paranoid
I actually know how it got there, but I'm not telling. You might want to consider changing your password.

A 1 bedroom concierge suite just opened up on our cruise. Interesting.....
There were actually five that opened up on Friday. If you go in to dummy book the cruise and then opt to select your own cabin, you can see which ones are available. I called, but they are still trying to get full price for the cabin which seems odd a week out. My guess is they'll be available at the port for anyone willing to pay the price. I'm tempted for the right price, but I also don't know if it be worth it in the end (plus I'd have to move cabins between the two cruises.
I will say that we stayed in a suite a couple of times with butler service, concierge, etc., and it was very, very nice. It was Brady's first cruise, which made it that much easier. Who needs the kid's club dine and dash service when you can have the meal delivered by the butler to your veranda?
P.S. You can never go wrong with Star Trek references in my book. Ever been to a convention?

Who else is going on this adventure? i would REALLY like to travel as a group to meet them...i guess i am being overly paranoid, but i would feel better knowing its not just my little family.. haha
There are a ton of us going, so I'm sure you'll feel safe. Are you going to the meet? That may be the best place to discuss forming a group.

The weirdest thing I ever packed was not for a cruise, but a gift for my nephew's 8th birthday. We wanted a sword and when his parents said no of course he asked me. I told him he already had a wood sword and he told me no Aunt Cathy I want a real one,,,,so what's a Aunt to do. I got him one at the renn fest and took it on a plane with me to MI. I did tell the airline that I had it in my bag and you should of seen the look on their faces. I did have to open my bag and show them I had it wrapped up so it would not poke out the side.
I'm not sure I'd count that as weird, but definitely the most unusual. Was this pre-9/11? Carry-on or checked luggage? I wonder what
DCL would say if you tried to bring a sword on? I know they'll warn us that we can't bring switchblades onboard after stopping in Mexico, but I've never heard them address the sword issue.

Thanks for the information. I was not aware that we where going to have to be escorted off and processed again, but that's just a minor inconvenience.
I was not lucky enough to book the same cabin for both sailings. I added the first cruise much later and could only find an inside stateroom, however I have a window view for the MR cruise.
We'll receive a packet on Saturday night with all of the details. In your case, you'll leave your luggage in the cabin packed, and someone from guest services will have it transported to the new room; it should be waiting for you when you return. You will have the option of waiting in the public areas or your cabin, but they'll ask us not to move back and forth as they don't want new passengers thinking that they can go to their cabins prematurely.
I've heard the process can take up to 45 minutes. Once we clear customs, they will get us back onboard before they open the terminal to the new passengers. I suspect we'll get off by 9:30 and will be back onboard by 10:30. I might spend the time taking pictures of the ship and then letting my DS swim in the empty pools.

Thanks Dave. I still haven't heard back. I guess I better look into something else. Does anybody know if there is another good company for horseback riding?
Kris, thanks so much for that post! My kids loved it.
Id try emailing again as Randi is very good at replying.
Im glad your kids loved seeing the Wonder travel through the canal.

I cant believe its only a week away - Kinda warm here today
Im just south of you and Im truly enjoying the warm weather; I just hope it holds out while were heading south. The first two days can be a bit cold and it looks like the temperatures are going to drop starting next weekend.

Does anyone know of a cheap (ok, I'll just say it, free, free like the wind!) way of checking email on the ship?
The only way Ive heard you can check email for the cheap is using a Kindle and its built-in web browser. I hear it isnt pretty, but supposedly it works. You can find cheap internet cafes in the ports, and I know theres one on the pier in PV, so that is an extremely cheap alternative; if memory serves, its something like $5 an hour versus 75 cents a minute onboard using a very slow connection.

Can't blink. I wonder if that's a cause for concern?
